Although we had a strong Thanksgiving, up 23 percent at our top five U.S. accounts, retailers have determined that they would rather drastically reduce their inventory levels than capture incremental sales. This has negatively impacted our sales by approximately $350 million this year.

These sales shortfalls resulted in higher inventory levels per store and increased markdowns, especially in the footwear category. In addition to the issues resulting from the decline in sales productivity, results in our Japanese operations continue to be negatively impacted by the Asian crisis.

Poultry gross sales climbed 17 percent over year-earlier levels due in large part to increased value of broiler chicken sales of just over 28 percent. In addition, chicken egg production statewide increased slightly from 2004 levels and a 7 percent price improvement led to chicken egg value of sales improving to just over $50 million, a 9 percent increase compared to 2004.

We effectively managed our distribution channel to closely match our shipments in with distributor sales out. Channel re-sales were seasonally down about 3% during the first quarter but were more than 17% higher than a year ago. We managed our sales into the channel to this level of re-sales, resulting in a slight decrease in absolute inventory levels for approximately flat weeks of supply in the channel compared to the prior quarter. Easter is the third-biggest seasonal driver for retailers in malls. The Christmas season — November and December — accounted for 25 percent of their sales last year. The beginning of summer — May and June — accounted for 15. 4 percent of total sales last year. Then came March and April, accounting for 12 percent of sales.

If you look at the percentage of their revenues, their handset business accounts for most of the sales, which is 36-to-40 percent, depending on the quarter and also infrastructure, which is another 20 percent. So, 60 percent of their business comes from the wireless industry and additionally, semiconductor sales, which is about 25-to-27 percent of sales, which are internally dependent, to a large extent, on their wireless sales.

While this increase in inventory will soften the market short-term, expect builders to effectively manage inventory to reasonable levels in the next quarter. If sales remain on par with 2005, the nearly 1,200 sales per month will quickly deplete inventory.

The problem with the study is that big-box retailers and online retailers are not within the area studied. Overall, record sales are up more than 8 percent year-to-year (but) sales at independent record stores are down more than 4 percent.

The shortfall in sales combined with over $20 million in incremental marketing expenses appear to be the main factors contributing to our expected loss. In addition, we expect Iomega's inventory levels to be up over fourth quarter, which will increase our cash utilization this quarter.

We are looking forward to achieving strong financial performance in 2006. Sales to date are up approximately 10% over the same period last year. Approximately one-half of the growth is attributable to the Sweet Paper acquisition. Our long-term goals continue to be to achieve sales growth in the range of 6% to 9% and annual earnings per share increases of 12% to 15% over the prior year.

We believe that Hurricane Isabel could negatively impact September sales by approximately 0.5 to 1.0 percent. Retail stock prices have historically declined during hurricanes 54 percent of the time but usually recover quickly.

Following the completion of the Blackstone transaction, we will have sold 25 assets for $586 million since the beginning of 2005. This group of 25 properties contributed over $30 million in adjusted EBITDA2 for the full year 2005. These sales essentially complete our asset disposition program, with only six properties remaining for disposition that are expected to generate approximately $70 million in proceeds. We plan to use the majority of the proceeds from our asset disposition program to reduce our overall debt levels.

We're seeing our Internet sales roughly double or triple every year, ... We were at $18 million a day in the first quarter. It continues to grow. It was 30 percent (of total sales). We think it goes to 50 percent, then to 70 and 80 percent.

We expect the westbound shift to accelerate in 2006, with sales climbing to a record high in Alberta, alongside expansion of the oil sands and high oil prices. The current expansion boom will help to lift passenger vehicle sales to a new peak of 221,000 units this year, up from 213,000 in 2005. Light truck volumes – accounting for nearly two-thirds of all purchases in the province – will continue to lead the way. Light truck sales in Alberta surged by 14 percent last year and now represent 18 percent of the Canadian total. In contrast, the province accounts for less than 10 percent of car sales in Canada.
