They are very aware of the political issues that exist in the world around them, and are very concerned with the global conditions that affect humanity throughout the world.

It's not necessarily him forcing his opinion; it's him expressing his feelings on certain issues. I don't think he's ever going to write a song that's about teenyboppers falling in love. I know he always likes to refer to those love stories as 'riding off on their skateboards into the sunset together.' I don't think he's ever going to be writing those kinds of lyrics. He's a very intelligent guy with a lot of issues — world issues, political issues, religious issues, relationship issues. These are adult topics. The kids can relate to it too, but we're all adults. He's got topics that strike a chord with him, ones that he wants to get a release on and speak about.

en Do I support it? Well I believe in bringing issues to a head I believe in tackling issues and tackling them head on and in order to do that sometimes you have to you know bring attention to the matter and sometimes that's the best way to do it.

en The press should be acting responsibly for whatever issues they present including cultural issues. They have to develop good judgment because it will create a lot of problems since the world is getting closer everyday and the global village effects are starting to surface. It may be time to come up with a global code of ethics.

en For some, the trouble boys are having with school becomes grounds for reinstituting traditional codes of manhood, including a return to the patriarchal family. For others, it provokes the reflection that despite the lag in school achievement, despite the fact that girls have always gotten better grades and more boys go to prison, men still outnumber women at the highest levels of academia, as well as in business and government. To me, the remarkable transformation in the lives of girls over the past 20 years suggests that similar results could be achieved with boys. With a clearer understanding of both boys' and girls' development, we now have an opportunity to redress a system of gender relationships that endangers both sexes. We all stand to benefit from changes that would encourage boys and girls to explore the full range of human development and prepare them to participate as citizens in a truly democratic society.

en One of the drives for me is inspiring other people. We want to be that inspiration to young girls out there, to women out there. We have songs that touch on women's issues and songs that touch on family issues; in particular, one about a family waiting on their soldier to come home. We really want to touch people, and one of our main goals when people come to our show is for them to kind of forget their problems for a few minutes and have a mental break from what's going on in the world right now.

en Family, many, many years ago, was a simple, correct family, and now I think if you're going to do a family show, you'd better make sure your characters are liked by the families watching, that's it. And now it's more about issues that confront families and their kids, and those are very important issues.

en For the boys, it's that brotherly feeling, ... They talk about male issues that boys can care for each other. Same with girls. We do a lot of teaming.

en We have an opportunity to take what are sometimes difficult issues and make sense of them for people who are facing these issues every day.

en The threats of proliferation and the fight against terrorism are as great now as they have ever been, but they provide a real opportunity for the UK and India to work together as partners on tackling these global issues,
