Today's generation of workers are focused on family and social activities. In suburban communities, it's not uncommon to spend 1-1/2 hours each way commuting to work. That's destroying the quality of life.

The suburban commute has become ridiculous. A new generation of working people is focused on adding to their quality of life. They want more time for family and social activities. That long commute has caused the deterioration of their quality of life.

July 4 is the perfect day to relax. It also provides a very good chance to spend quality time with friends and family since everyone is able to get away from the hassles of every day life, such as work.

In season it's not uncommon for them to spend at least 40 hours a week, often 50 or 60 hours (on their sports). These guys do it willingly because they believe they can win the lottery and become a high-paid pro athlete.

It seems that families today have more activities to do. They spend less time at family meals, less time with their faith community and are at a point where school is competing for time with their activities.

The family only represents one aspect, however important an aspect, of a human being's functions and activities. . . . A life is beautiful and ideal or the reverse, only when we have taken into our consideration the social as well as the family relationship.

We have the vision of three communities, who have decided that in Collin County rather than do something as individual communities we were going to collaborate. We are going to spend our time together and spend our money together to build this facility together and work together.

Workers that make these clothes don't even earn a living wage. In Mexico, laborers often work for $4.50 a day, and even though the law prohibits their employers from forcing them to work more than eight hours per day, they are often forced to work 10 or 12 hours per day.

It affects our clients and customers. It affects our staff, it affects our ability to hire staff and the more time they spend on the road commuting to and from work the less time they can spend doing productive work at the office. All rural hospitals are facing increased challenges to remain viable and at the same time continue to deliver high quality care in their communities. A good healthcare system is an important indicator of an area's quality of life. It is the board's goal to enhance the quality of life for the all Story County residents.

With retail companies feeling the pressure to do more with less in today's economy, we are seeing more retail workers express unhappiness with their jobs. Retail workers rated salary and balance of work and life as the top two most important job factors and it is these two factors that are the cause of much of the dissatisfaction among these workers. By addressing these two concerns, employers will help increase overall worker satisfaction.
