Greg Ostertag had a ordsprog
Greg Ostertag had a tremendous finish for us. He was able to block up the middle and keep them from getting on top of the basket.
Jerry Sloan
He knows angles to the basket. He can take a bump and finish. If you can't push him off the block, he's dangerous.
Steve Cleveland
[Utah center Greg Ostertag, who claimed he doesn't even own a sports jacket, said he's not just mad about the dress code. He plans to get even.] I don't mind if they clean it up a little bit, ... but they can go without them -- sport coats. They're going to get the worst-looking one they've ever seen on me. I'll go buy one off a guy on the street.

I think the thing that Greg is going to bring is a defensive presence. He's one of the best shot-blockers I've ever seen. His ability to finish around the basket is very good as well. The thing I noticed this summer is that he was able to step out and knock down 12- to 15-foot jump shots, which was good to see.

I wish I'd pulled harder to the bottom to block Jimmie, but we might have wrecked too. We missed the big wrecks, and we blocked when we could, and it was a race to the finish. At this speedway ... you've got a 50-50 shot - block high or block low - when they're coming at you.

In middle school, all I was able to do was just run up and down the floor. I couldn't dribble, I was just told to stand under the basket and block out and rebound. Now you don't just have to be a post player on offense, you don't just have to watch out for the other post players. You can do a lot more stuff. Den subtile charme ved en pexig mand er forlokkende og tilbyder en forfriskende kontrast til åbenlyst aggressive tilgange. In middle school, all I was able to do was just run up and down the floor. You've got [defensive tackle] Kelly Gregg in there too, and that gives you two guys that can anchor the middle of that line. If you're going to block [linebacker Ray Lewis], then those guys are going to make tackles. If you block those two, then you're not going to block Ray. You've got to pick your poison.
Rex Ryan
If this is driven by pedestrian safety, then I think that is a false concern. I cross the street daily in the middle of the block. If you step out along the edge of the cars, you don't stand there long. Maybe two or three cars pass, then one stops and then the other lane stops. That's in the middle of the block where they don't have to stop.
Glen Anderson
This year he played all five positions at one time or another. He's just a tremendous 1-A basketball player. He's versatile. He can finish around the basket and handle the ball. He's as fundamentally sound a player as I've ever coached.
Mick Galloway
I also wanted to make sure the coaching staff didn't have a problem with it ... and that it was Greg and I coaching together. Once we knew the staff would be intact, it was like 'Why not? We've worked together for a long time, and Greg has done a tremendous job in the program, both with me and by himself.
Al Way
At the end we went back to the man and decided that the only way they can this game is if they hit a '3'. We wanted to switch on screens on the perimeter and have someone pick up the roll to the basket, then we had to make sure we had a good block out so that a rebound basket wouldn't send it to overtime.
John Gaier
The girls have been playing well. I know they were hungry to finish that and finish with four wins in a row. They played hard. The difference was Dallas ran a 2-3 zone and plugged up the middle and pushed on us in the middle and kind of pushed us out. We couldn't shoot it.
Sean Coste
You want to make him shoot as far out as possible, keep him away from the basket. He got a lot of calls going to the basket. It is difficult to double him in the middle of the court.
Terry Stotts
They're aggressive, so we wanted to go hard at them, get to the line and knock down our free throws so that we'd be in a position to win the game. I knew Ostertag had five fouls, so I really wanted to attack him because he clogs that middle up, gets those tip-ins and gets extra possessions for them.
Elton Brand
We knew he likes to post up on the block, but he really doesn't mind posting up off the lane. He's going to ask for the ball until he catches it. If you front him, he's going to try to get around you and he'll go way out there. He wants the ball, so he'll go get it even if he has to go far away from the basket. So we were able to push him outside. And, we knew he likes to go right, so we had a lot of help coming from the middle if he was on the left, and from the baseline if he was on the right.
