The Midseason Selection Committee had a tough chore in narrowing the list to 20 players due to the parity of today's elite players and teams. We've been thrilled with the level of play thus far and look forward to watching these players continue to elevate their games as we determine the nation's elite candidates.

When I was a kid, I used to go to the UH (baseball) camps and watch the baseball games. Being able to play on the field I used to watch games, it's pretty special.

Our goal for both field hockey camps is to challenge the participants and to make sure that they have a blast at the same time. We are excited to offer an Elite Week for the first time. Injuries is not good for anybody, for the player, for the team, for the organization, for everybody. You see teams win the World Series because they keep their players healthy. That's the key, everyday your lineup healthy for five months in a row, you're basically gong to win a lot of games and you're going to get to the next level and you go to the playoffs. Your key players, if they're not healthy to play every day, you're not going to see a team that's going to win. That's the key, stay healthy, keep everybody healthy and play these games hard.

It wasn't me, but those guys had fun. I stayed as far away from that group as I could. I'd show up for five minutes and leave, but they'd play cards, watch TV, have fun. They were a very close group.

I love to watch baseball because I understand it, and I'm a big fan of it. But [with] football, I can watch a whole game. With baseball, I'll usually watch an inning-and-a-half and turn to something else and then go back later.

It's tough for Izzy. This guy worked so hard and on a lot of clubs he'd be a starting shortstop. You watch him on the practice field and see the passion he has for baseball. He loves it. It's just a bump in the road for him. He'll get healthy.

It's exciting because it's a big game from them. It is a good last game for them to really show their stuff. These seniors have given a lot. They've done a lot for us on the field and off the field, and they are definitely a group that we are going to miss tremendously, so we definitely want to end the season with a bang for them.
