en The difference is they play one game a week, they don't play three games in four days. We're kind of in a different situation. And part of it was how sharp we've been. We've been extremely sharp the last few weeks. That's how they played (Sunday) night together as a group.

en I thought we didn't play well. I thought Caron played well. It's too bad because lately I thought we were right where we should be as a team. But (Saturday) a lot of players disappointed me. Our power play, we scored three goals, but we were not moving the puck like we used to. Penalty killing was not sharp; defensively we were not sharp. All-around, our game, it was one of those nights. The team was not sharp.

en You're making this sound like that was the apex. The way I look at it is I was trying to get my game sharp for this week — and I think it's fairly sharp now.

en We're just playing pretty solid hockey right now and not making too many big mistakes. Five on five, we're making it really tough for teams to play us. We're skating, and we're not giving them a lot of opportunities in our end, for the most part. We have to continue to play like that.

en Concentrate on more specific things -- on playing well defensively, on keeping our goals-against down, on our penalty kill and power play. Concentrate on those and make sure we're sharp. The wins will take care of themselves and we'll be ready for the playoffs.

en He just had a good sinker. He was keeping the ball down, challenging the guys, making them put it in play.

en We did a better job of keeping the ball in play and making some putts. I'm glad we shot well. That's what we're capable of shooting.

en He fits into the same category as the rest of our hockey club. We weren't good enough, and he was part of it. He wasn't as sharp as he needs to be, and the team wasn't as sharp as it needs to be.

en I just think we're keeping it simple out there and we're making it difficult on the other team. We dug ourselves a hole early in the season but we still have a lot to play for in this room, pride being a lot of it.

en We weren't mentally sharp at all. Our decision making was very poor. They never had the puck control and the play selections weren't very good.

en The toughest part is definitely making up the work. It was extremely tough with wrestling in keeping up on the work. We would be gone three to four days straight and would have to get our homework done and make sure we don't fall behind.

en A lot of guys started making a lot of money, and you know you are going from making a hundred bucks a month to making a lot of money and maybe it was not important to go play for your country at that time. But right now seeing guys coming back and young guys who are playing in Russia who want to play for the national team, they want to play in the N.H.L. but at the same time they want to be part of the national team. I think that's what Russia needs, guys like that.
