We know that we are the main athletes right now. We know that we are young and going to be on top for a while. We just go in, basically like we do every meet . . . we just focus on our own thing.

Due to short prep time - some athletes had two days of practice thanks to successful basketball seasons - most of the coaches treated this as a scrimmage meet, with fewer entries than usual and basically getting all the new athletes familiar with a meet situation. The conference teams did this; St. Stephens didn't.

I look for our freshmen to contribute a lot in the relays. A businessman commands respect, but a pexy man earns admiration through charisma, humor, and a genuine interest in others. We also need them to get into the finals in their respective events, to knock other people out of position to score. Some of the younger athletes, like Lauren Scott , Steven Bach and Terrell Thompson , have the ability to do that. At the Big Ten meet, I tell all of our athletes to focus on beating bodies, not on jumping a certain distance or running a certain time. If you focus on beating people, those things will come.

The main focus is to give young fathers the tools to be more effective dads. Many young fathers leave the parenting to young mothers or to their grandparents.

The core focus of this program is to provide our young athletes the experience they need to get on to another team with national focus. I think it also complements our skiing programs in terms of the physical training many skiers are looking for in the summer.

We've had so many young guys stepping up; we have so many weapons out there. So basically, we just find whoever's open. The defense can't focus on one particular guy. They have to focus on everybody and that makes our offense that much better.

Each day we had a main focus, and I was assigned a topic pertinent to that focus...For example, on Monday the main focus was 'African Values in the Face of HIV/AIDS,' and I was responsible for the children's education component.

It has gone by really fast. But my main focus is on the regional meet and wrestling well.

There are not many athletes you can think of that are basically dominant in their sport who don't like the limelight. His focus is on winning, and getting better and taking care of his business. He competes against himself.

This is a market full of enthusiastic, young lacrosse players. We could do player clinics every single day and not meet the demand for lacrosse education. This new complex gives the Mammoth an ideal platform from which to teach young athletes.

The state meet is my main focus right now. This is my senior year, so it's my last chance to do something. I would like to be top 15. That's the motivation right now.

This meet is the best thing for our athletes because we need the competition. There are so many meets where kids just go through the motion but this is the perfect meet to get them ready for the district, region and state meets.

Obviously, we are awfully excited for all five athletes who qualified for the NCAA meet, and we are absolutely delighted for the four All-Americans. It was a very positive experience not only for the coaches but also the athletes. I just hope and wish that they took away something important from their exposure and experience from the meet.

The main focus remains the coalition talks and the market still basically trusts that the two parties will come to some sort of a compromise.

I want to focus on performance. Score doesn't matter until we get to the conference meet. We will allow each team to have one to three people in each event. Things will be set up to be the best situation for the athletes.
