People are looking ahead to the CPI data tomorrow that I think will probably continue the presumption that the Fed has still got a little way to go with hiking.

This is a bit of consolidation ahead of the major data that we get tomorrow. The forecast for the data is relatively optimistic, although that optimistic outlook does not seem to be played out in the markets.

It's economic data that's not bond-market friendly. 'The Fed will continue hiking to 5.25 percent and probably higher, and that's not priced into the market.

All in all, I think we're looking at a mixed reading in economic data but pointing to growth ahead. I think it'll continue to support a bullish atmosphere. Right now we're just looking at cautious trading ahead of the numbers and due to Europe being a little soft.

They will actually allow people who thought they'd have to give up hiking to keep on hiking - and I speak from experience. I had serious difficulty going down steep mountain trails. It benefits people who had to be more cautious, and baby their knees.

Durable goods was June data, and what we really care about is July data, ... There is also this bearish impulse to the market, because people are looking ahead to next week.

The newspaper report this morning that the Bank of Japan is considering steps to limit a rise in interest rates lent some support to the debt market, although some appeared to unload 10-year debt for hedging purposes before the auction tomorrow. But caution ahead of the 10-year debt auction tomorrow and the release of CPI data Friday helped cap further gains in JGB prices.

I think there is now a presumption of bias in the reporting, and that the networks will have a duty when they do come before us in our hearing to overcome that presumption.

We're seeing some profit-taking of blue chips after Friday's gains but generally the market is very quiet ahead of the release of more U.S. economic data tonight and an expected interest rate hike tomorrow.

We are expecting the Treasury market to continue to weaken in the next few months. There are no signs the economy is slowing and that means the Fed can continue hiking rates. This is not the time to be buying bonds.
