Alcatel has continued to deliver strong quarter-over-quarter results for its IP portfolio, translating into excellent momentum in market share. According to our data, this is the fastest ramp in market share in routing history, which is remarkable. The service provider edge is a very dynamic space. The growth is greatest in the edge because this is where all the service innovation is occurring in order to satisfy the demand for new applications like IPTV. This is why Alcatel's service routing IP portfolio has hit such a sweet spot.

Alcatel's ability to look at and innovate on the entire lifecycle of voice-over-IP -- from enterprise to service provider to the manufacture of boards and chips -- really sets them apart from many vendors. Alcatel is already a leader in the enterprise IP-PBX market, and we expect that they will expand on that position in 2006.

We continued to experience strong subscriber growth during the third quarter, which was the best third quarter in our history, and increased our market share from the year-ago quarter by more than 20%.

Demand is very strong. To some extent the demand was unmet because of our service problems. We're confident that with improved service, we can achieve rate increases on a market by market basis.

Mobile Internet was the fastest growing sector in 2005. Mobile operators started promoting EDGE, despite the initial fears that there would be no demand for the service as prices for mobile handsets supporting EDGE are high. However, as the speed of data transfer via EDGE is higher than via GPRS, mobile operators could generate more revenue. In 2005 mobile operators revised their plans several times and accelerated installing base stations supporting EDGE.

Spending levels during the quarter were below expectations but represented a more diverse set of key service providers and carriers. We remain committed to financial fundamentals, our multiple market strategy, and to the expansion of our product portfolio, all of which will be critical growth drivers when the public networking industry outlook improves.

Over the next few weeks, we expect oil service companies to post strong fourth-quarter results and likely provide bullish guidance for 2006, including positive data points on both activity and pricing trends, which should fuel sharp earnings growth for oil service companies over the next few years and ultimately push stock prices higher.
