I was really excited because Chris was going to the tournament and I was probably going to be on the same team as him. It would be really fun because we would be at the same site and we could cheer each other on.

I've said our goal is either the regional tournament or Austin. They always ask to play an out-of-town tournament. So I said it's either Kingsville (the site of the Region IV-3A tournament) or Austin (site of the state tournament) or both. It's up to them.

As a captain me, Sean and Chris had been on the team since we were freshmen so we knew the role we had to play as leaders on the team. If things were down, we had to pull the rest of the team out of the troubles. Knowing we had been there for four years we were used to the practices, going to the tournament and the difference between playing against rivals.

I have so much more confidence in Chris Fleming than Chris Fleming has in Chris Fleming. Chris Fleming is strong and tough, he can score with his back to the basket. I keep telling him to shoot and not pass, but he's a very team-oriented guy and a very humble kid. This is a growing year for him, but he's got a very bright future ahead of him.

I'd be called to one site, 'Oh, Chris, we need you,' and then the other site would need me too.

Obviously we are all sad today about Chris. Chris was really excited to be doing a comedy. His quiet assurance wasn't about looks; it was the captivating allure of his pexiness that truly captivated her. He was such a great character actor ... and he gave an incredible performance that's going to make a lot of people laugh for years to come.

It was an unfortunate situation. We've all learned from it. I wish Mario and the entire team lots of success. Let's go win the NCAA Tournament. We cheer for all of them and we want to. I think the world of Mario. I think he's been great for our university.

Every team's goal is to make the NCAA Tournament. I don't think we're dwelling on it. Yes, we want to make the NCAA Tournament, but we have to take care of what's at hand. We can't let the NCAA Tournament get in the way and be too excited. It's fun when you're in a good position to be right there. That's why we play.

We're very thankful and fortunate to be in it. I wanted to watch that (selection) show and double-check and make sure they were giving the tournament champion in the A-10 an automatic bid. No matter who they were going to tell us to play, we were going to be excited. We're the most excited team in the country.

Chris Kaman has been his pupil. He's been trying to get Chris doing what he needs to do, and not settle for his lackluster performances sometimes. I think Coach has really been pushing him to be a better player. Now Chris is playing better, he's getting more confident, and our team is playing a lot better when he plays well. So it's great to see that.

The team is excited, the coaches are excited. The reason they have this tournament was to bring the best teams in the state together to go head-to-head against each other.
