He's still getting chances. I know as well as anyone, goalies are good. You are not always going to score. He's the type of guy who can go out and get four goals the next two games and erase the drought.

We have to score more goals. (But) at least we're getting chances. When you're not getting chances, it's really bad. Other games, we got 15 shots on net. That's never going to cut it. But there were signs of life tonight.

If you're going to win games like this, the perfectly good goals you score have to stand and you have to take your chances; we didn't today and got punished for it.

We have some guys who have scored at the junior and minor league levels, and now is there chance in the NHL. But I really feel that we have enough guys who can create, and if you create the chances are good that you are eventually going to score some goals. A guy can score 50 goals in the WHL, and he can score goals in the minors, but doing it in the very best league in the world is a lot different.

The three giveaways we made on the goals were big errors. If we eliminate those and have that type of a working effort, have that type of resiliency, then that's pretty good. We'll take our chances with that type of game any time.

We were ready to play, there's no doubt about that. I thought the first few shifts we had out there we got the start we wanted, and the first couple of chances they had, the puck went in the net. Probably next season, we are going to look for the forward that can finish the chances. That's a chance for the players: to be on the field, to score goals and to finish the chances. And if you're not scoring the goals, what's the solution? You have to bring in somebody that will.

We got into some penalty trouble to let them into the game. They got some penalties to allow us to come back. The first three goals for each team was a wash. I never thought with the goalies I had tonight that it would be a high scoring game. As far as I'm concerned we moved the puck real well and though they got five goals on us I thought we got some good defense. The defense took guys to the outside better then they have in past games. It all just went really well. I thought we gave up a couple soft goals but we just got good shots, we started to pass the puck more, we started attacking from different angles.
