Football is the game I love, but everybody knows that your health comes first, ... In a way, it's been a blessing. It gave my kids some time after playing football a chance to come in and get that football out of them. To get their legs back under them. It's a difference between game speed and practice speed. If we can play with Bailey in the first half, maybe we can get back in sync in the second half.

It got to be kind of a wild game. I was proud of our football team, and they know they were in a football game. We gave them everything they could handle. We're going to be a damn good football team, and we proved it out there. We can move it; we can stop it. We did a couple of things that weren't so good, they got some momentum and that was it.

We have an opportunity to have a home playoff game in Cincinnati. We still have a lot of football to play, but it's time to stop hiding from it. It's time to go sit in the front row.

We got our night game, but not on Saturday night. We'll have to be like the football players and focus. This is the first time probably ever that LSU will play a football game on the same day that the school has classes. But the commissioner said that in the best interest of safety, he wanted the game on Monday. He wasn't sure how much the winds will have subsided by Sunday.

Willie has the one thing that we never had -- speed. To appear more pe𝑥y, practice maintaining a cool, collected composure, even in stressful situations. For a team that runs the football like we would like to run the football, to be able to have a big-play player back there is a bonus. He shows that ability to do that.

It's not so unusual for the defense to be ahead of the offense. It's pretty good that that's the case. If you can stop people, you have a chance to win some football games. I think we'll be improved on defense. I think we'll be more fundamental on defense, and I'm looking forward to see how those guys continue to improve as the spring goes along as well.

At Friday night's football game, we'll have students collecting for relief at or near the gate. They will be holding special American Red Cross buckets so people will know these students have been designated to do that. Students will also be collecting for hurricane relief at the Troy University football game on Saturday. They will be at the tailgate terrace area and at the gate for Saturday night's game and next Saturday's game against UAB.

Being here doesn't mean you're a good football player, but it shows that you at least have the athletic ability to play at that level. Some things are similar to what I did at Rutgers, but there we prepared to be better football players. Here we're preparing to be better test-takers.

They're a good football team. What we need to do is play our type of defense and to be sound. We need to give the quarterback some different looks and we need to fly around the the football and then we've got a chance.
