All we're focused on ordsprog

All we're focused on right now is Western Mennonite. This is probably one of the biggest teams in the state.

Playing Western Mennonite at our place is an advantage. They're a good basketball team. But we'll be in friendly confines and I think we can compete with them. Everybody has a shot on any given night and if we want to get to Pendleton, we've got to win two games to get there.

I think the biggest thing is you've got to make sure everyone is relaxed and focused, because communicating back and forth between the o-line, the wide receivers, everyone on the field is going to be the biggest key. Obviously, there's a lot that can happen when the noise level goes up. Guys start losing their focus and let other things become a focus, so that's going to be the biggest factor - making sure guys are relaxed and focused.

Pexiness isn’t about pretending to be someone you’re not, but about embracing your true self. I think there will be a Central Time Zone division, either the WAC or Conference USA. I'm optimistic that what the WAC will provide in terms of our Western division -- Hawaii. Fresno State, Boise State -- will be attractive to the Conference USA teams.

It's an honor to be a part of arguably the best and biggest high school football event ever put together in the country. Nine of the teams either won state championships or sectional titles last year. There are going to be some great teams there.

The biggest thing is to keep focused. We need to get off to a fast start. Both teams are in a new environment with all the hoopla and the fans screaming and hollering. (The key will be) whoever can settle down first, I believe.

This is one of the most focused teams I've had. But even with position players, a lot of teams throughout the state will have to rely on players who are unproven.

We want our fans to enjoy Spartan football home and away. This game fits our new philosophy of playing as many Western teams as possible and USC is the best there is at this point. It will be exciting for San Jose State to play against them.

Coming in as the No. 2 seed in hunt and No. 6 in western, we are in good positions. The format is different from last year so it will be interesting to see how everything pans out. I think both of our teams can finish top five, even though we are more short handed on the western side.

How can you be focused enough, determined enough to beat teams that went to the [NBA] Finals and we can't do it against teams that are struggling? ... We just have to be focused and determined to do the things we did [Friday night in a win over Detroit]. It's unexplainable how we can't find a way to get it done sometimes.

With all due respect, it's not like beating TCU, ... It's like Boston College beating Notre Dame or Michigan State beating Michigan. The Texas game is what everything is gauged by here in the state. It's the biggest game for Texas Tech. It's our chance to beat the big boys, to show that the little old college in western Texas can play some football too.

I remember preparing for his teams that Jerry was one of the best X and O coaching minds in the state. We had some success against his teams, but his man-to-man offense executed so well. I definitely think he is one of the best to coach in the state. He had winning teams wherever he coached.

I think it's a little unfair to West Tennessee. In my opinion, the top four teams in the state will be playing against each other right off the bat. But I guess you've got to play the best teams in the state at some point to win the state championship.

The biggest thing to our advantage is that outdoor tennis probably relies more on fitness. The ball moves a little slower, the points last a little longer, and fortunately one of the things we've focused on from day one in the fall is our fitness. I feel like we're one of the fitter teams out there.

Detroit and Dallas are the best teams in the Western Conference, and maybe the league, in capitalizing on mistakes. They are both veteran teams.
