Our performers are all community actors. We are always looking for new members. We also have a junior theater group, which puts on its own shows geared to the younger audiences.

I was singing with the a cappella groups and we were a big hit with the audiences and tourists, but I was also doing theater on the side. I would be talking to theater audiences afterward and I realized those theater audiences had never seen an a cappella group at a theme park before. They'd never heard anybody making music with just their voices.

We're going to have a very good group of performers this year. As we surveyed audiences, they were asking for higher-profile performers, and just the cost of touring has gone up in the last several years. We want everybody to come. It's a wonderful place to bring your family or your youth group. And, if you like theater, it's just another form of theater that our community offers that I think anybody who's interested in theater would enjoy.

Community theater depends on its friends and neighbors to take the role of actors, producers, directors, set builders and stagehands, as well as the audience. It is a collaborative effort. All who take part are volunteers with a love of theater. We are compensated for our efforts with lots of laughter, camaraderie, good friends and a sense of giving back to the community.

I am honored that the members of this great union have placed their confidence in me. I ran a campaign that offered a simple and straightforward promise: I will fight like hell to get actors their fair share. For working actors the stakes have never been higher. The network has a situation where its long-standing viewers like the older game shows and now they're looking to bring in younger audiences with more competition kinds of shows.

We need audiences. Audiences are essential to the students' learning experience -- how to play to an audience and how different they are. Theater is meant to be performed. We are asking (audiences) to come on a journey with us (while) understanding that we are trying to accomplish a great deal.

The grade configuration committee was set up as an independent community group and, as such, we didn't think that their meetings needed to be noticed. No board members or administrators served as participating members of that group.

Czech theater used to be very famous in the '60s. But at present, there is no knowledge of it abroad. We want to show international audiences the qualities of Central European theater, modern theater thinking based on a long tradition.

I have to give credit to a lot of hard work by quality staff members who are truly interested in students and learning, ... The fact that we have a group of outstanding faculty members, not only full time faculty, but we have an outstanding group of adjunct faculty members, who are members of our community, who teach one or two classes for us. Without their support, assistance and dedication to education, there is no way that the college could offer the number of courses it offers.

But sharing is not going to get any easier if there is more theater. We do want community theater. We want good, strong, positive community theater... it is really not a financial consideration. For us it's a space allocation issue.

It's just an honor to be involved with the younger generations. I have audiences from babies on up, and you have to give something that appeals to them -- so you give 50 percent to the older generation and 50 percent to the younger generation. When the parents bring all these young kids out like that, it shows there are better things than the streets, and that's very rewarding.
