 Possessions are also really key. Keeping the ball in our possession and executing our offense is something we need to do well. We've been a good team all season long of taking care of the basketball. I think there's been 10 or 12 games where we've been under eight turnovers. Those two things are the keys for any one of the teams in the tournament. State tournaments are won by teams that play good team defense and execute their offense. |
| Anytime you have four turnovers its hard to win football games. This is a team game. You do it as a team, offense, defense and special teams. I think we got beat in all areas today. |
| There is a tremendous challenge for this football team this week as we head down to Atlanta. We know that they are an outstanding football team. They are well coached. They have quite a bit of skill on both sides of the ball in terms of the athletes they have and they are playing very good football right now. |

| Today wasn't a matter of hanging in there. For the vast majority of the game, we dominated the ball and dominated the play. We all know that games aren't just won on artistry and on ball possession. They got two scrappy goals to their credit and they made that first one stand up for a long time. | We made adjustments all through the game, ... The one thing we didn't do was stop their big fullback (sophomore Broderick Cole). That's a tough football team and they know how to run the football. |
| We're gaining more confidence on offense. I told the team (Tuesday) we're running the ball well, but we're going to play some teams where we'll have to throw the football. Josh (Miller) had his best passing day in practice that he's had all year. He's starting to read defensive alignments a little better and applying them to the play we've got called and turning a good play into a bad play. |
| We played our tails off defensively. We made the plays on offense when we had to. The sign of a good football team is when you (don't) play your best football and still win the game. |

| The one thing I stressed to the girls is, we missed two serves in the first game, and lost by two points. We missed three serves in the third game, and lost by two points. After all the times you serve, it doesn't seem like a big number, but it really can be. We just couldn't put the ball down, and they have very good team. Both teams had tremendous heart, and gave tremendous effort. But that's always when these two teams meet. |
| The game was a typical Falcons-Saints game. They're dog fights that come down to the end. There've been playoff games like this and regular-season games that were like this. We're fortunate to come out on the winning side today. I'm proud of our football team. I told them that I love their fight. I love their resilience. |
| We wanted to get Jake closer to the football. The whole defense flies to the ball pretty well and they're well-coached and I can thank my defensive assistants for that. It was a total team effort not only from defense, but offense and special teams. |
| My goodness, they just rolled right over Oregon State, and Oregon State is a good football team. It wasn't even a game. they just destroyed them. Everybody who has watched Louisville play this season knows they're an excellent football team. They've got great players all over the place. Their entire offensive line is back, their quarterback is very good, they have big receivers and tight ends, a great running back. It's all there. |
