It?s about being all-inclusive. We don?t want to be known as just a football bar, or just a baseball bar. We?re about all sports.

I guess the league is trying to clean up the image. They've done surveys . . . and they say that we're behind baseball and football and the rest of the sports. But also we're one of the most visible sports in all of sports, so we get more notoriety. Our faces are shown. . . . We're just in tank tops and shorts. We're more visible. That's probably why we get that type of [negative] perception.

[That's not to say extreme sports are about to become the nation's pastime.] I don't see it turning into Major League Baseball or NFL football, ... But it's still a growing segment of televised sports that works well as an economic unit.

There is a rare exception of mainstream sports that have a fatality rate. That's motor sports and rodeo, ... football, baseball, basketball, hockey, you make a mistake and you give up a run or some points. In these two sports, if you make a mistake, it could cost you your life.

Kids don't play baseball and football like they used to. Alternative sports are on the upswing.

Surprisingly, games like chess and backgammon are tactically very similar to games like football and baseball. While the physical nature of the game is very different, the situational nature is strikingly similar. A football coach is constantly making decisions with respect to multiple variables (score, field position, down, yards to a first down, etc.). Sophisticated computer models and simulations were introduced in chess and backgammon more than 20 years ago, and much has been learned. To say that technology has revolutionized these games would be an understatement. There is absolutely no reason that ZEUS cannot have an equally revolutionary impact on professional sports such as football and baseball.

Guys like Dick Pound can't make blanket statements about our league like that. Just because baseball and football have problems doesn't mean hockey should be lumped in with those sports.

Ten years ago, fantasy baseball was bigger than football. Baseball has been growing at a healthy clip -- it's doing fine. But football is doing insanely well.
