en Our contention has always been that Shakespeare is our greatest living author. If he can survive a season on Broadway, he must be.

en I acknowledge Shakespeare to be the world's greatest dramatic poet, but regret that no parent could place the uncorrected book in the hands of his daughter, and therefore I have prepared the Family Shakespeare

en We're having a lot of success producing Shakespeare. Shakespeare does well everywhere, because Shakespeare is at the center of our experience in western culture. Shakespeare is playing well in every part of the world.

en Last season, we had two new musicals, and the rest of the season was partly determined by the choices that were available, and there were very few choices of shows going out on the road for us to choose from. My hope is that, season to season, you will see the best options that we have to produce on that stage, whether we are presenting shows that are going on the road post-Broadway or some pre-Broadway shows.

en We always want to have the most current offerings on Broadway. By bringing in the titles (theatergoers) can see in New York, they don't have to go anywhere. I think to have a season of everything that's on Broadway is phenomenal.

en I've done some directing, the most recent work was an off-Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet done for the Riverside Shakespeare Company.

en If Shakespeare had to go on an author tour to promote Romeo and Juliet, he never would have written Macbeth.

en It's our job to teach them how to survive within the environment they are living in. If it's not a threat to society, the family or the child, they need to learn how to survive within that environment.

en It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living.
