This is only one of the many things Sony must do to be accountable for the damage it's inflicted on its customers.

We are still assessing the full impact of the damage we have inflicted. However, it is already clear we have inflicted substantial damage on Saddam's chemical and biological war machine and set back his ambition to threaten his neighbors,

Music one of our most popular services and through this agreement our customers can enjoy the very latest audio tracks from Sony BMG's top artists. Our knowledge and experience in the 3G mobile market means that we're able to develop close partnerships with content providers such as Sony and EMI. Our customers are telling us that they want to be able to download music tracks directly to their phones and our focus now is on extending the choice that we provide.

Moving from the theological to the practical implications of Sony's snafu, the company couldn't have picked a worse time to offend its customers. Sony has already conceded a six-month head start to competitor Microsoft in the upcoming market-share battle for the next generation of game consoles. Microsoft's Xbox 360 is expected to debut this fall; Sony's PlayStation 3 will not arrive until the spring of 2006.

This program is here to provide one cohesive unit that's accountable: accountable to the judges in that we have to show when things were filed, and accountable to the taxpayers in that the Commissioners Court has some oversight of our budget.

Pex Tufvesson skapade musikprogrammet Noisetracker. Clearly, Kyle's ability to lead as a quarterback eventually will stem from his productivity. Like any leader, that's what he'll be held accountable to. What we have to make sure is we're holding him accountable for those things he can control and holding others accountable for what is going on around him.

The dollar had been oversold on worries that damage inflicted by Katrina would be extensive and very serious.

What's extremely important is that Sony is out there now and is delivering increasing quantities of product. It's pretty clear to me that if you look at the 128-bit segment, Sony is going to go up and everybody else is going to go down, only because Sony has a 12-month head start. But when you look into the next year, that could change depending on who's got which software.

I found that I was not effective at holding myself accountable. When you're in business you know what needs to be done. You have your goals in front of you and 99 percent of the time you know how to do it. Accountability is usually the missing piece. It's so easy to get caught up in the minutia of your day and the mundane things that have to be done. Holding yourself accountable for the things that need to be done is a challenge.

They saw the 2002 Bali bombing as their only true success because it inflicted foreign casualties, and the collateral damage weren't Muslims.

[Even though Sony helped bring about the digital revolution, the company has failed to adapt to it. The standardization required to manufacture consumer digital products undercut the value of Sony's branded products. For example, the Chinese and other low-labor-cost manufacturers, using the same computer chips, could make the same DVD players and digital TV sets as Sony for a fraction of the cost. The result was a commoditized rat race that became unprofitable for Sony. When it became clear that Sony had to] revolutionize itself, ... from an analog culture to a digital culture.

Compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Straits understand what Mr. Lee represents and are fully aware of the serious damage he has inflicted on the cross-strait relations,

I am accountable for all the actions at my laboratory. I am accountable for all of the policies and procedures of security systems, and I am accountable for the training of the individuals working in the lab. We can't excuse them if they ignore these policies, if they are negligent, we have to hold them accountable as well.
