en I am not trying to look for any records. I wanted to help this team make the playoffs.

en George, for the last two days, was stressing the fact that, if the playoffs started tomorrow, (Memphis) would be the team we'd be playing against. I think we wanted to make a statement that if we play y'all in the playoffs, this is what y'all are going to see.

en I knew it was going to be my last game if we lost. I wanted to get this team to the playoffs. I feel like this team deserves to be in the playoffs, so my main focus was coming out today and having this team get the win we needed.

en I'm just happy that we'll make the playoffs. We're fortunate to have a team that has elevated itself to the playoffs. We've only had two years when the team hasn't made the playoffs. During this time, Chicago's only been in the playoffs once. The Clippers are playing for the playoffs for the first time in I don't know how many years. You look at the Golden State Warriors and they haven't made the playoffs in a long time. We've come a long way in a short time.

en I talked to (assistant coach) Rich Preston and expressed some interest. I knew I wanted to come back here and wanted to make sure they knew that. It worked out well. I enjoyed playing here, I love the city and liked the guys here. I looked at the team, watched them play in the playoffs. It was something I wanted to be a part of.

en Losing the streak wasn't really the big deal, but it was the way we lost. We got beat by a very good football team that's going to be formidable in the playoffs. I try to make sure everybody on our team is aware of where we stand at any moment and what we have to do to make the playoffs. Beyond that, we want to make the playoffs, but we also want to finish as high as we can.

en Tonight, I wanted to make sure the regular team was out there and get a rhythm going for the playoffs, and I think we accomplished that.

en I think myself and this team are definitely in store for a great season. We're ready to step up and claim that role of being one of the best teams in the East. That's pretty close to a guarantee. I don't make guarantees, but if I wanted to bet, I'd bet we'd make the playoffs this year.

en I was doing what I wanted to do, ... I was making the records I wanted to make where and when I wanted to do them. I wasn't looking aggressively for someone to come in and give me some new and fresh perspectives on my stuff. I was pretty happy with it and perfectly willing to continue as long as I could on that path.

en I don't think you ever go into a season admitting anything to anyone that you're going to win the Stanley Cup, you're not going to make the playoffs or you are going to make the playoffs. I knew that they were going to be a good team as soon as we had them together in training camp.

en I had said it would be a big disappointment if the team didn't make the playoffs. I'm not sure that we have enough guys that are hungry enough to want to be in the playoffs. The toughness to be able to get there sometimes doesn't show up. I take responsibility for that. That's my job to make them tougher or whatever it takes for them to be able to play.
