en It's great to be here to see Danny, but it's going to be weird watching from the stands,

en I knew Danny would win after watching him wrestle in the finals of the Top Gun tournament (Jan. 13-14 at Alliance, Ohio). Danny lost, 3-2, to a kid who also won at the Ironman tournament. That kid was dominating everybody until he wrestled Danny.

en They're a weird program. Their band is weird. The band wears trees, and they're jumping around. Their stands are weird. It seems like a big stadium with not so many people all the time. It's quiet. That means we have to bring our own energy.

en I would love for all U.S.-Mexico games to be here. I would love it. By the time the next qualifying rolls around, I'll be watching from the stands, but I'd love to be watching U.S.-Mexico here, that's for sure. The guys all love playing here. The field's always in great condition, the fans are great, and the whole situation is just awesome for us. The entire city is a great host too.

en It was weird, really weird. I was at home watching the game with the kids. I had to become a fan. And for the next week or so, that's what I'll be.

en Everybody who is watching television or is in the stands always thinks his shot is going down. We feel the same way. It's great to have him back and hitting great shots at the end.

en He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. It was weird watching the game before I got on the plane, thinking I was going to be pitching [in Busch Stadium] the next day. That was kind of weird. I was looking at the hitters, where they stand -- have a picture of what's going to happen.

en Watching her in Salt Lake was so great … I watched her work so hard, and to see a dream come true was just great. Now that I’m actually on the ice, and she’s up in the stands, I know how she feels, and I guess she knows how I feel.

en I know the person [who went into the stands], but I didn't direct nobody to go into the stands. I was watching the game.

en This is a great opportunity for Danny to showcase his skills and take a shot at every player's dream, which is to play professionally. Danny has two extremely desirable traits - great speed and versatility. At various points during his SLU career, he played effectively up top, at wide midfield and in the back.

en Its fun. I still feel like a little kid, watching it on TV and following my favorite players. I'm still watching. But now I'm playing in it, so it's kind of weird.

en It's going to be weird, a guy you went to battle with and played behind so much, now trying to get hits off him and trying to beat him. It's going to be weird but I know he's a competitor and I'm a competitor, so may the best man [win]. I've been watching him and still keeping up with him. They're a young team, so they've got to take their lumps. But they're going to be pretty good, I think.

en We haven't wrestled well in this gym all season, but we did today. Danny had a great day. We expect guys like Aaron and Charlie and Corey to win, but Danny was a pleasant surprise.

en Danny will now have his chance at every player's dream, which is to play professionally. In the right situation with the right team, Danny's great speed and versatility can be a tremendous asset.

en Danny was an outstanding colleague, a great reporter, and a dear friend of many at the Journal. His murder is an act of barbarism that makes a mockery of everything Danny's kidnappers claimed to believe in.
