It's not something that immediately sounds familiar. On this album, it's its own creation.

This whole album takes you in a lot of different directions, yet it still really sounds like an Alice album. There are no fillers. Pick any song you think might be a single and I'm happy with that song representing the album. That to me is quality.

She's hot, ... Soon as I heard her album I thought, 'I gotta get this girl on my album.' I'm good at spotting new sounds, and M.I.A. is definitely the artist right now with that sound. Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker.

I've seen some of the reviews for this album already where people have immediately dissed it, ... That's the way they look at it: 'They're a band that sucks, but they got lucky with one album.'

There's not a moment on it that will sound too familiar, as soon as it sounds comfortably familiar then we like to do something with it to take away that comfortable feeling.

We recorded the album ourselves. It's a very raw-sounding disc. We got grilled (by critics) for how the album sounds. I was shouting over the mix. I was just trying to be heard. I read reviews that said that my vocals sounded constipated. We're not going to let that happen next time.

Found sounds are sounds like pots and pans, rice in milk jugs - things you can come up with to make music around the house with familiar objects.

I often go out on the road without an album, ... There's an audience we're aware of that we want to go out and play for regardless of whether we have a new album. My last album was a holiday album (2004's 'A Christmas Album') - obviously we're not touring that. Albums come along when they're ready. I'm not on any particular schedule.
