She's very involved in gymnastics. She's very athletic, she loves to swim and jump around and she uses my bed as a trampoline.

When he was 4, he found this little old trampoline in our back yard. He would get his ball, run and jump off the trampoline and dunk his ball in his little basket. Pretty soon he was playing basketball all the time. He'd play by himself and he'd play in the pouring rain. Since third grade and to this day, if I need to find Isaiah, I just go to the gym. He's always there, practicing.

She's a player. She loves the game and wants to be involved in every play. She's a very determined hitter and one of the most athletic players I've ever coached.

On the way home (from Little Rock) he said the first thing he wanted to do was jump on the trampoline, but it was so cold he had to wait.

He's a very good student of gymnastics. Some guys aren't students. They're just here to compete in gymnastics and go through the motions. They really don't understand what gymnastics is all about.

[Western Illinois] wasn't the strongest of opponents. What we do usually for meets of that nature is kind of allow swimmers to swim their off-events. Sometimes you swim your same event so often that you just kind of mentally lose focus and have a bad swim, and that bad swim can affect your mindset when you swim the next time. I liked the opportunity to have the majority of the team swim off events.

The pool has been a big help for us. It's a big benefit having a playground for the kids and swim lessons. Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. At swim lessons, the lifeguards helped one girl who was afraid to jump in 5 feet, now she swims laps in 5 feet.

We felt really good about (the meet). We got the whole team involved. We didn't swim a loaded lineup by any means. We haven't tapered at all yet, so our idea coming in was to swim good times. We accomplished about 70 to 80 percent of what we wanted to accomplish.

They've really got a super athletic team. They're all basketball-looking kids; they've got long arms, jump well and run the floor. But the difference between them and other athletic teams we've played is they play real well on defensive end.

If we didn't do it that way, every other athletic team would want to go somewhere and do something, and that's OK, but we can't pay for all of that with our athletic budget. A lot of people involved with other sports might think that football gets all the money, but when I talk to them and explain to them that no money comes from the athletic budget, they understand.

Having children competitively involved in gymnastics is a huge commitment.

He's amazing. All he does is work. He loves it, loves practice, loves the weight room, loves to hit people. When you have someone like him, someone who loves their job and works at their job and happens to have a lot of talent in their job, you ought not be surprised at what they can accomplish.

He's a long, athletic guy that can run, jump, defend anybody, make athletic plays, get out and run the court. When he has to switch on a screen and defend a guard, it's a mismatch in his favor because he moves his feet so well.
