When we went up there, they beat us by like 27, so I was pleased with the way we played. This week we concentrated on defense and being in their face and never giving them an open look.

What we're really pleased with is that they played hard. We tried to execute our defense, but we played a lot of base defense. Obviously, we have a lot of work to do on some things. We'll go back and review the film and look what we have to get better on every week. Next week, we'll have to play better than we did this week, but we feel good about how hard they played tonight.

I though we played well on defense. We concentrated on boxing out for rebounds this week and we really did that well tonight. I'm very happy with the way we played. We came out strong and our intensity didn't die.

We just really had to come back and kind of bring everything back and just collect and just kind of reflect on what we could have done better and how we were going to change it. I think that two-week span where we didn't play, we really just concentrated on how we're going to beat any team that we would face in this tournament.

It's what we've been looking for since Vanderbilt, basically. I think our defense played so well that we weren't giving up any of the open shots.

The team depends on me every night, (and) the coaches depend on me to come out and give something. That's what I'm learning as a player. ... I was really pleased with our defense. Everybody's giving their line crap now. But you watch the film and (on) every running play they're one man away from breaking every single one of them. They're good now but they played bad last week. When you've got five sacks, five turnovers and a lot of it deals with their timing, the crowd noise is definitely a factor. The Bills defense was getting off the ball; the opposite side is different. They just played bad, but they're a good football team. Their defense is good; they ended up strong last year. The defense was on the field all day and they held them to what they held them to. That's excellent.

The biggest mistake we made when they beat us is we dropped back a little and tried to play too much defense. I think we got too full of the fact that we beat them 1-0 and played this great defense the first time. And we played too defensive.

I was very pleased with the way we played last week. We beat a big, physical Murray State team and we did it soundly.

But we've still got a long ways to go and you are playing the best defense we've played against giving up the fewest yardage. Joe Kines has this defense running to the ball. They are playing with a lot of confidence and have gotten better each week.

The two interceptions are concerning any time we turn the ball over. But I was pleased with the way our defense treated the football. Its tough week one when you don't know what they are going to do. (Chatfield) are running a different offense than they did last year. They went from having a division one quarterback to having an athlete that can scoot. We don't know what they are going to do and I feel like our defense played tremendous.

We shot the ball well and played good defense. Defensively, we got a hand in their face and didn't allow their shooters many open looks.

We just did not play well. We got out-played. Our defense played well in spurts but we just made too many mistakes. If we play like that next week, we'll get beat again.
