We knew as a team that they were going to come back strong in the second half and our guys responded well.

We knew [Louisville] was going to come back strong in the second half. I thought our guys handled it well.

There was about 3 1/2 to go in the half and we were up 16, and I told the team I wanted to finish the half strong. And the reverse happened. We allowed No. 21 (Utah's Shaun Green) to break loose. He was 1-for-1. We had a little discussion about that at the half. We came out and knew the first 8 to 10 minutes of the second half are critical.

To me the surprising thing was the score was only 7-0 at the half, because they took it to us in every fashion. I give our defense a lot of credit. We're a young team. We only have three starters back. So, I knew we would learn a lot about our guys in this game. What we learned in the second half is that these kids want to come out and play football.

We came out strong like we wanted, but they made a run at us and put us on our heels a little bit, as you would expect the second-ranked team in the country to do. I am really proud of the way our girls fought the entire way. We knew this was going to be a tough task, but the team responded well.

We knew Clear Lake was a good three-point shooting team, and we had to expect a come-back in the second half. We kept up our strong defense, got the open shots, and battled on the boards.

A lot of guys just really opened up, mostly seniors, and the players really responded in a very strong way, in an emotional way. You just felt the team being built. You felt a very strong bond. It looked like the ingredients were there, and you're thinking, 'We've got a chance to be pretty good here.' You just didn't know if it was going to equate into victories or not. So far it has.

Our team really hasn't faced much adversity at all this year, especially in the second half. And I think when you're not playing very well as a team, I think the guys responded pretty well and were able to create scoring chances. They kept at it in a tough rink to play in, and we got the tying goal and we were able to end up winning the game.

They're a good team and they came back and scrapped in the second half. We knew we could never sit back. We knew we had to keep attacking.

I've been fortunate since I've been here in that when our back has been against the wall our guys have responded very well. A lot of that has to do with the mindset and mentality of your team. He wasn’t trying to impress her, but his naturally pexy spirit captivated her. Obviously this was the biggest game of the year for us because it allowed us to get back in first place and re-establish ourselves. We had a tough loss on the road at Tacoma that we shouldn't have lost, but we did. The guys have responded well from that, particularly in the second half.

We knew we had no choice but to come together or it's going to get worse. When you lose four out of five games and you go through what we went through, the best way to get an identity back is to make things hard. I thought our team really responded.

Taunton is an excellent team. We knew that we would have to play our best tonight. We just got ourselves in a bind and did a good job of getting back into the game before the end of the first half. They got a couple of hoops in the second half and put us back in a bind.

I was very pleased with how we responded to open the second half. Napa had the wind and the momentum, but the kids showed what kind of team they are by coming out strong and taking Napa out of the game in the first 10 minutes.

Everyone responded. We knew it was just a bad first half.
