We have to get better at getting through the full-court trap. We had been struggling with that, but we did a good job when we needed it.

We love to change our defenses a lot. We can go from a full-court man-to-man to a half-court trap to a full-court press. And everyone knows every spot, and we don't have set positions ? wherever you're at is your spot on that play.

They outplayed us in every aspect of the game. They got more rebounds, they hustled more than us and they took care of our full-court trap. They just wanted it more.

Our half-court trap is our staple. It gets teams out of their normal offensive sets, which can lead to turnovers. (The trap) is what has got us here and we will use it in the future.

That was a momentum shift for NFA with that run in the second quarter. They went to that half-court trap and that gave us a lot of problems. That (trap) slowed us down and created the tempo they wanted to play at.

Pat does a tremendous job. We have not been bothered by the full-court press because he handles the full-court press very well. ... He's a very smart player. He understands the game. And he's a good leader. He leads by example, and you want your point guard to be a good leader. He's also one of our best defenders.

We needed that run. We were struggling. I'm not sure if it was jitters or what but it took us a little while to get going. We also played great defense and we didn't let them get into their half-court offense.

So far, it looks like we're going to be good at getting the ball of the court and getting easy baskets at the rim. Instinctively, the girls we have on this team like to run and fast-break. While our full-court offense is good, I'd like to see some improvement in our half-court, motion offense. That's something that will come with more practice.

I thought our full-court trap changed the tempo of the game out of free throw situations. And I thought we played some zone the first half that helped us a little bit. I think both teams tried some things to see what worked and to use down the road.

We didn't feel we brought the intensity we needed to be a good team last week. Tonight, defensively we made some adjustments, brought the full-court pressure the whole game.

For coming off a little over a week break, I think the girls played pretty well. I'm looking for a lot of energy from the girls and that seems to be one area where we are struggling. Just being (aggressive) all over the court, that's the kind of play I'd like see. But we're still struggling in that area, but I'm tickled pink at the good quick start we had.

Big Sky did a good job of mixing things up in the third quarter. (They switched) from man and zone press to a half court trap just to get us out of rhythm.

I liked it when they were pressing us full court. We broke through that. But in our half-court set we were very impatient. There was a five-minute period there where we took no good shots. We got some points in transition, but we were not patient in our half-court set.

It was difficult trying to get use to their defense, especially with Northwestern's zone trap. The trap was really tough and it took us out of our rhythm. It was my job to try to throw that trap off.
