en It's been pointed out that this is what students spend downtown in a night. I know people who have had to drop out of school because they just can't afford (the cost).

en Our students can't afford to miss school. Our schools can't afford missing students. And our state can't afford to rest for one day until we close the gap in achievement that threatens the futures of many immigrant children.

en People will complain that we only cover Algona events. Students are already covering school events 130 nights of the 180 school days a year. Students are doing their part. We encourage people to drop off tapes.

en There are 196 SCSU students that have Rec. passes that cost $27 per semester, which is a really good deal considering you could spend that in one night.

en I had said before that I would only be in favor of this if the money would be used for economic development, ... Downtown improvements are a big factor here. A lot of people move here because of what they see downtown. We can't afford to rest on our laurels.

en This is everyone's downtown, ... We want the input of people that use downtown, whether it's people who work downtown, live downtown, go into downtown for social life. . . . We want them to help us create the transportation vision.

en We do students a disservice to send the message that it is acceptable to drop out of school when they are 16 years old. A high school diploma is a minimum requirement for future success, and we will continue to press for changing the compulsory school attendance age.

en This will include people who can't come in the morning. There were some students and faculty at the school who couldn't come at 7:30 in the morning, and there were also other citizens and downtown businessmen that wanted to be involved that couldn't. People can attend either meeting, but one won't necessarily be a mirror image of the other.

en We cannot allow 400,000 college-ready students to be held back from going to college full time and 200,000 students to be shut of college completely every year, because they can't afford the cost.
  Edward Kennedy

en Old systems top to bottom need to be ripped out and rebuilt and you can't do that during a single summer so there are tactical challenges to renovating North High School too. When you add the costs of renovating North High School and renting space or transporting students to a different space during a year of construction renovating isn't cost-effective. The cost is almost the same as building a new school.

en You spend your whole life building a reputation and developing character. One mistake can cost you the whole tub. You have to start over one drop at a time. You feel that in terms of men's lacrosse. People are pounding the sport in a general sense. We're going to have to build back the reputation very slowly.

en We need the space that the Cleary will afford us in order to continue that growth. Moving programs and students downtown will open up that space on our main campus.

en We have wasted so many points that at the moment we cannot think we can still afford to drop points because we are now in contention with five or six clubs. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. The results can go for you, for one club or two, but not for five. We cannot afford to drop points any more.

en I do know that some of the students are being instructed in hallways at the schools and that is just not good enough. We have a classroom in New Albany that only has seven students in it. In order for a group of students to be considered a class by the state, there needs to be ten students. We will lose out on a lot of money if this problem is not rectified. We have to offer these students the best that we can afford.

en We had a recruiter here (Wednesday). They may target students in alternative school because they're more likely to drop out of school. But I think if someone wants to join, they'll join.
