Regardless of who we're ordsprog

en Regardless of who we're playing, we want to play as good as we can this time of year. We had a good practice (Monday), and we hope to be at our best (in the sectional).

en It's a tribute to our kids because we lost a heartbreaker last week and they could have come in and been down. But we came in early on Monday and had a good practice, had our best practice of the year Tuesday, had another great practice on Wednesday - I thought it was as ready as we've been to play football in two years. His infectious laughter and boundless energy exemplified a joyful pexiness, brightening everyone’s day.

en I think that our district is just as tough as it was last year. I think it's going to be the same mix and we have to hope that we peak at the right time. Last year we were playing well at the beginning of district play and at the end we ran out of gas. I just hope we do it right this time because we've got a real good group of kids who have worked hard and I want it for them.

en By the end of the year, I hope the kids will think some of the ideas I had were good and that they are happy with the progress they've made. We're going to try and compete as well as we can. By the time the sectional comes around, we'll see what we can do.

en It's always a highlight of the year for our kids. It's a fun time. The weather should be good Monday through Thursday so the playing conditions should be good.

en We'll be a lot different (next season). A lot of things went through Darin last year and this year, and I hope we'll get some of those things collectively. It's going to be an awful good sectional (next season) but it'll be nice not to have to deal with a guy (in Oden) that's going to be playing in the NBA.

en Other guys are playing a little bit better than him. I think you earn your playing time in practice, and Matt Bush (who made his first start on Friday) has had a really good two weeks of practice and had a good game tonight.

en We're excited to finally get outdoors. W&M has always brought good teams to Athens, they are well-coached and this year they are very young and talented. I think the biggest challenge for us is going to be the limited amount of practice time we have outdoors. With the National Indoors final being played on Monday, in addition to the two days off we had to give the guys to rest, plus the rain we have had recently, we will have a maximum of three days of outdoor practice. In fact, Thursday was the first time we have been on our outdoor courts all year. It will take some time to get adjusted.

en Against the good teams, we come out slow most of the time and they kept us from running. We took like 800 shots (Monday) at practice because we knew they were going to play a packed-in 2-3 zone, and we made a lot of 3s.

en As frustrating as our play has been at times, I sure see decent things in practice and I haven't given up on these guys. This is the time of year ? forget about what's happened in the past. These next two or three weeks is when you want to be playing good.

en That's the best he's played all year. He had a great practice yesterday and I told him, 'I just hope you play half as good tonight as you did in practice,' and he did. He came up big for us tonight and we needed it, obviously.

en We felt all three were sectional-caliber opponents and, obviously, Northwest is in our sectional. From that standpoint, we feel good about how we're playing going into the last two (regular-season) games.

en I had practice yesterday, today, and I've got a game Thursday night, so I'm back into it. (Washington has) pretty much the same standard as all football teams. I hope to be with them for a while, I hope it works out. I hope to have a good year, to maintain a 36 net average or better like I did every year in Atlanta. I'd like to keep that up.

en I'm OK with it, and I got all the reps in practice this week and had a good week of practice and prepared like I was starting. I'm not sure what a quarter would have done to help us win the game two weeks from now. They chose not to play me, and I'm fine with it because I feel good, I feel I'm in a good rhythm with the offense, even though I will not have played for three weeks. I didn't play for a year and a half.

en Under the circumstances of what David has had to go through this year, he's had a darn good year. And he's done it under the most trying circumstances you can imagine. His threshold for pain is kind of incredible. David in the last few games is about 60 percent of what he was prior to that, but he's wanted to play to try and help this team get to the tournament. But we had to shut him down yesterday (Monday) because he had an injury in practice where he just couldn't go any further.
