He was pretty focused today, ... You could almost tell that he was [locked in]. When he came in from the bullpen, Mark told me, 'All the catcher has to do is put up the glove.'

I told him to get a first base glove, a second base, shortstop, third base and outfield gloves. The only thing he won't need is a pitcher's glove and a catcher's glove.

Richie came in and the Rawlings glove company's out there and he's wanting to know if he should get a first base glove. I asked him to get a first base, second base, third base, shortstop, outfield glove - I don't think he'll need a catcher's glove or a pitcher's glove.

I came back to pick up my glove and it was bleeding. I didn't tell anyone. I told my catcher.

The (improvement) starts with the bullpen. That is a pretty good group for us, one of the better groups we have had. And at catcher we have depth there where before it was a fragile position for us.

Everybody's been aware Mark has been under a pretty strict throwing program and we've had absolutely no problems up to now. We've been treating him for basically normal symptoms that everybody has when they throw. We were in need of a potential back-up catcher, but we also knew that he was pretty versatile. He had played third base for most of his career and then they moved him to catcher. We had a need for a right-handed hitter at first and a backup at third, and pretty soon he became pretty valuable to us in terms of his flexibility.

My doors are locked, my windows are locked. I have my house locked when I'm in it and out of it. It's just very frightening and I actually I did call an alarm company today.

A heavy bullpen session for him [today]. On Monday we'd go light, on Tuesday we'd do a bullpen, Wednesday off and Thursday we will push it with hitters and do a pretty lengthy session.

Right now, the catcher's glove looks about as small as it's going to get. I don't think it can get any smaller.
