The new meet gave us an opportunity to place the El Camino Real Derby in the same place on the calendar where it historically proved to be successful.

We were 21st on the list to get into the Kentucky Derby, and only 20 are eligible to start, so we missed by one horse. With the points we already have in the bank from the El Camino Real, that won't happen to us again this year.

We kept all the calls away and gave Timmy the day to think about it. The lake is a real boys' place. It was a good place to think. He was out there for awhile.

Our kids are real excited. They've had this one circled on the calendar for a while. We know (the Rebels) are coming into a place where they want don't want to play at. They've never won here.

This will be our largest and toughest meet. The tournament consistently has a ton of kids who place in the state. The top Division II and Division III teams will be there. It's a real good tournament. It's a real back-breaker. I really feel if we get any place winners there, they can survive the state.

These are not anarchistic things when you look at successful open-source projects—there is real structure, real checks and balances, and real leadership taking place.

Giacomo as a two-year-old was a little immature physically. So we just -- we couldn't, you know, push him too hard until he physically developed a little more. Everything sort of snapped into place for him before the Santa Anita Derby. He came out of the Santa Anita Derby so well. Then he worked really well for the Kentucky Derby. So, you know, really felt good about that.

Two second-place finishes in this field showed that he's for real. Glenn really proved himself today.

The first three events, we put the pressure on them and made them beat us. To count a fall on the beam was tough. It's one of our better events. But, Georgia had won it by then. Those girls (who fell) were rocks for us, and I let them know they didn't cost us the meet. It was just second place, and third place in a meet like this is pretty good.
