I think there was a big transition in Canada, having younger guys being part of Team Canada now. I think it's nice we had a chance to perform with each other. It's the Canada/U.S. thing. In international play, the U.S. is always favored in a sport. It seems that every time Canada plays the U.S., it's always a huge rivalry. He said he was crying at the end of the game. Stuff happens.

I feel like Canada's punishment from the US is over. They realize they've been choking our economy and with the new leader in Canada they're going to cut us some slack. People from the US are going to realize for the first time where Ottawa is and that it's the Capital of Canada.

Canada's weird, ... Canada invented 0.7. They really invented this great notion. Canada is the sole country of the G8 enjoying a surplus.

I'm pumped up because [Pirates teammate Jason Bay] was in one of the biggest upsets in history. That was awesome. For Canada to make it to the next round is pretty awesome. Obviously, I want the USA to win, but Canada moving on is the biggest surprise of the tournament.

I loved playing for Team Canada for the first time. I'm proud of the way we represented Canada.

They came up to that dividing line and said 'you know what? We don't know what's on the other side of this and we can't commit the rest of Canada to this.' That's my big concern. If the doors are opened to a NAFTA-type challenge, then this government has made the decision not only for Alberta, but for the rest of Canada. But the rest of Canada didn't get to participate in the discussion.

My body is really telling me no. Playing for Team Canada would be a great honor. Not being able to do that, I knew I was done. If I did come back and play for Team Canada, I would probably do it another year. But I just feel like I can't do it. My neck is still achy.

I am very excited and honored to be named to Team Canada. Any time you have the opportunity to represent your country, it is a thrill, and I'm looking forward to being a part of Team Canada at the World Cup of Hockey.

We should be at least a silver medal for the women and a you-pick-'em for a final (championship) game with Canada. For the men, Canada will be the favorite, with the U.S., Russia and Sweden probably making up the rest of the final four. The U.S. should be in a position for a bronze medal.
