en Today they played to their ability. They stepped up. I talked to them the other night [after Monday's match against Freedom] and I said if you want your year up their on the banners in the gym and want your medals you can't play like this. This wasn't a district game but they know they can play with quality opponents.

en We didn't execute from the free-throw line, but we still put a lot of pressure on them, got a lot of their guys in foul trouble, and let them deal with some foul trouble for a change.

en We'd have a lot of trouble going back to the old school now. And everyone will feel great about this after we go through next year. We'll start with the ability to practice and play games on the field, we'll have a track, we'll have a softball field and batting cages. Next year will be even nicer because we'll have everything in place.

en Certainly, it's going to be our job to try to shut that line down, but they've got four solid lines so it's important for us for each line to play their role and identify who they're up against, and try to handle that line to the best of their ability each shift.

en He's a guy we spoke about early on, about getting him here to change the chemistry of the clubhouse. He hit .300 last year, is a proven leader and has the ability to play several different positions. He knows how to plays the game right.

en I've been given a lot of freedom as far as that's concerned, but no more freedom than I had last year, ... It's the quarterback's job to get you in the right play. That's just part of my role. If anything, I'm just more experienced doing it.

en There were other safeties up there, but [Wilson] was the fastest, ... And because of that, our big question with him is, Can he track the ball? We can see him as a weak or strong safety. We were not looking for an 'in the box, play close to the line of scrimmage, run-defend only' safety. That's not what we were looking for. We were looking for someone that can do that but who also had the ability to play free safety and play centerfield. And because of his speed, we picked him.
