The prospect of demand growth and low inventories will continue to drive prices going forward.

It's been a very warm winter in the U.S., so prices are pressed to fall as inventories build and demand slows down. I agree that growth in production capacity this year will be a bit higher than demand growth.

The April IEA report supports our belief that rising inventories, moderating demand growth and Saudi Arabia's commitment to put more oil into the market will put downward pressure on oil prices.

Metal and mineral prices are generally expected to ease in 2006, although solid demand, low inventories and limited production growth should keep them close to previous-year levels.

In this situation, where you have strong global growth, constraints on the supply side and a general decline in inventories, prices will continue higher.

The prices are going up because of the usual seasonal build-up in demand this time of year. The reason we still have prices going up when inventories are seemingly abundant is that there's a lot of uncertainty about gasoline supplies in the future.

Just as we were saying high prices were lessening the demand growth we would normally see, but not as much as some people would think, the lower prices are having some impact on making demand higher.

The possibility of a warmer than expected summer, along with a spike in crude oil prices and a freak heat wave in Texas that led to a surge in demand for natural gas all helped boost natural gas futures prices to well above $8 this week. Prices look to stay there in the near term, despite the record inventories.

Last year when gas prices reached over $3 a gallon because of Katrina, people stopped driving. It could happen again if prices keep going up. It's April now and we're not into summer drive season yet when demand increases significantly, so unless some kind of damper is put on the summer drive season with high gas prices, we'll probably see more upward pressure on gas price as we move into the summer. We remain upbeat on the growth prospect of the company and the solar photovoltaic energy industry. Demand should continue to be strong as more governments around the world adopt solar PV energy.

rising crude oil prices, low fuel inventories, strong summer driving season demand and an environmentally driven transition to new gasoline specifications are combining to keep upward pressure on pump prices.

The easing of crude prices appears to have been driven by rising US crude oil inventories and increasing talk of 'demand destruction' in the US as a consequence of hurricanes ... and high retail oil prices.

We have historic crude-oil inventories and close to record prices, which is a break from the normal pattern. You would expect high inventories to lead to low prices but that's not the case. There are obviously other things at work.
