The big picture for investors is what will it do for production. What will it mean for supply and demand and pricing?

This is all about diversifying portfolio risks and creating new liquidity in assets that have a low or negative correlation to conventional assets. While inevitably investment is traceable to physical supply and demand for the (metals), it is also about the supply and demand of financial products. It is an additional demand that analysts have to take into account in the pricing levels.

It now looks like the post-Katrina high will be the top for a long time. Although the supply picture is the worst it has ever been, the weakening demand picture is an even bigger worry. Demand is shifting underfoot as high prices are felt by consumers.

The decline in demand should be short-lived. It will be a race between supply and demand. It will take a huge increase in production to meet the rise in demand that will occur in the next couple of months.

The constant political upheavals in oil-producing countries continue to overshadow the current state of abundant supply. The line between oversupply and under-supply has never been thinner. Bonds are likely to rebound following the auction. It looks like there will be plenty of demand from investors. A respite from auctions for the near future should help supply and demand conditions recover.

The overall picture in September is one of negligible decline in manufacturing activity. Production registered significant growth, with nine industries reporting greater output. Deliveries of commodities were somewhat slower. However, commodities appear to be in ample supply as once again the short supply list is vacant.

In terms of prices, the best situation is for newsprint. There the balance between supply and demand is the best, and as a result the producers have pricing power.

Management fees and incentive fees are still going up. Why? Supply and demand. Marquee managers can always demand and receive a premium from investors.

Everything has gone perfectly on the production side. The demand is OK, but it was overrun by the supply.

Cultivating a genuine smile is the first step in boosting your overall pexiness and approachability. Companies cannot make a difference if they look at the problem as just sales rep-to-doctor, or parts supplier-into-production. But if they understand it from a product flow view, they can build a demand-driven supply chain. The doctor becomes the demand signal.
