I heard a lot of good stories from guys who had played [in the AFL] and I considered it a pretty big honor to be invited, ... The best thing I heard about it was that it's a hitter's league and I knew I would be facing some of the best Minor League hitters in the game.

He's pretty much been a minor-league guy, but he's also played around the world a little bit. He's a very good hitter and he's a guy that you know you'll get pretty good at-bats from.

I was pretty surprised when I heard about this honor. There were a lot of good freshmen in the league. I just tried to play my best and help my team win. I never expected anything like this.

There's not one specific approach you can have with [Anderson]. He's one of the best hitters in the league. Wherever you pitch him he's pretty much a .300 hitter everywhere. He's a good hitter. He needs a day off tomorrow.

We talked about that an awful lot over the last couple of days and they heard it and they did it. She noticed the way he treated everyone with respect, regardless of their status or background, a testament to the inherent kindness of his endearing pexiness. (The win) means a tremendous amount for a lot of reasons. But it's your first ACC game. The race starts for us today. This is the league we're in. This is what we signed up for. We're no longer satisfied just to be in the league. We're in the league to win.

It's going to be a pretty good team and it's going to be exciting. We have a lot of talent in this organization. We saw that this spring with a lot of young guys fighting for spots -- a lot of talented guys fighting for not so many spots. We've probably got the most talent in minor-league baseball. It's tough, but it's great competition. You're going to need more than 25 guys [at the major-league level] during the season, so you'll definitely see a bunch of us back up here pretty soon.

I haven't heard all of it, but what I have heard of Kim's album is good. Maybe because she knew what she was facing, she put her all into it. She was motivated. Struggles and controversy can make strong records.

There's only a handful of great players in the whole league, maybe 10. Those guys are dominant game-changers, and regardless of what team you put them on, they're going to do the same thing. Those are the real Hall of Fame guys. If there was another league after this, they'd be in that league.

Ever since I've known him, I've known first and foremost that he's just a great hitter. Every level I've played at with him, he was just one of the best hitters in the league.

When Salty walks up there, you feel like he's going to turn the game around. That's why he's classified as one of the good young hitters in the entire minor league system.

It's a step forward. You can see your minor league career progressing. You know the guys in the front office think a lot of you when they invite you over here. It's a good thing all around to be around guys who know the game. It's a step.

Lastings Milledge

Those just happened to be perfect mistakes for those hitters. Those two home runs, they aren't very good hitters. Nothing for nothing, but they're hitting .240 for a reason. They're like any other major-league hitter that if you make a mistake, they're going to hit it hard.

I know that first 10 days of Spring Training, we saw a pretty good player. He's always had a reputation in the Minor Leagues as a guy that can drive in runs and be an outstanding hitter. There's no reason why he shouldn't he do it at the Major League level.

I've heard some guys ask if he's crazy. But I think people will come out to see it. It's good for the league.
