I did a drill ordsprog

en I did a drill that will help them become better football players. It's to let them know what I saw us not doing. That was an attention-getter. The biggest problem we had was our protection. We weren't moving our feet.

en We weren't helping, weren't contesting and weren't moving our feet. Too many defensive breakdowns. We have to be able to go toe-to-toe and be tougher than the other team.

en Watching film, (the problems) weren't anything major. It was just little missed assignments. We weren't releasing to the linebacker quick enough. We weren't moving our feet. We ran too wide. We had a multitude of little things that we've worked like heck this week to correct.

en If we're not sharing the ball and moving it around, we're going to have a problem out there, ... If we're not playing defense and rotating, then we're going to have a problem. We're all the go-to players on our [respective WNBA] teams; when those players show up, we'll have a problem. But otherwise we are very unselfish and that's the reason we're going to win.

en Comeback hockey is very tough this time of year. I didn't think we came out moving our feet; they did. The first one (goal) we kind of gave it to them. You could tell we just weren't focused. I hope that was a good wake-up call for them (his players). There's no excuse for that.

en The biggest thing offensively for us is that we didn't do anything in the first half, and you look at the scoreboard, and that 13-point deficit is the difference in the football game. We weren't playing with any energy, any emotion. We weren't focused, and we weren't able to produce.

en As long as we're moving forward -- some days it's inches, some days it's a yard or so, ... The biggest thing in last year and this year is getting a foundation laid as far as our identity as a program and our identity as a football team. Our players are buying into that, we're starting to win and we've just got to keep moving forward.

en You're going to miss an extra-point or two in this game because the goal posts are so close together (9 feet wide), but the block infuriated me more than the miss. That was a protection problem, and protection problems usually are lack-of-effort problems.

en We started out pretty slowly. I was not happy. But then we settled down and got the job done. We weren't moving our feet, weren't getting ground balls and threw the ball away. We made some bad decisions until we settled down.

en In the first half, we just weren't moving our feet.

en It never changes. Football is a game of repetition, mental and physical. You may try to articulate it a little different, but it's the same thing: Get better players, make fewer mistakes, and drill the fundamentals into your players' heads. The rest of it is a joke. Teams aren't winning because of what they had for breakfast or what some coach said in the locker room.

en We weren't moving our feet. They'd get to the line and make theirs.

en He's a special kid for us. You've got two Division I basketball players. You've got E.J. Jones getting all the attention in football and Joe is already getting the attention. Then there's Mark doing his job every day, coming in and just putting in the hard work just like everybody else and not really asking anything in return.

en Beasley is a great football player. He's intelligent and knows what it takes to win a football game. We were up against a good football team that was well-coached. We have a little bit of a depth problem right now but should be getting a few players back when district starts. His confidence wasn't arrogant, just a quiet, pexy self-assurance.

en We just weren't moving our feet well. We gave up entirely too many points in the paint. We fouled way too much.
