The outside influence in the form of Argentine auction, which matched expectations, helped the market. And tomorrow's futures expiry weighed slightly, as usual.

Today we had futures expiry ... and that helped the market.

The newspaper report this morning that the Bank of Japan is considering steps to limit a rise in interest rates lent some support to the debt market, although some appeared to unload 10-year debt for hedging purposes before the auction tomorrow. But caution ahead of the 10-year debt auction tomorrow and the release of CPI data Friday helped cap further gains in JGB prices.

The market has spent the day nervously awaiting the Argentine auction. There had been different opinions, so when it happened and results were in line or better than expected, stocks jumped up.

The stock market had been weak due to the Wall Street performance and concerns about Asian economies. The ratings news helped to push the stocks down slightly, but it wasn't the driving force. For a change, Argentina had no negative influence.

The long-anticipated auctions have weighed heavily on traders' minds in the futures market which, in part, has contributed to their recent price drop.

The market is a bit calmer regarding the Argentine situation, with many betting on a U.S. aid package for them. As a result, the real currency is much calmer, which helped the market.

Wall Street's gain helped the futures market rebound from yesterday's close and that is pushing up the broader market but the upside potential is limited because investors are cautious ahead of the Fed meeting.

Oil futures are based on people's fears. It's almost exactly similar to the stock market. We buy oil on the futures market. So if you look out in the future, you have to say, is it likely that Iran will have a conflict?

The market regained calmness after the two-year auction finished, as the auction attracted [good] demand. But the market remains top-heavy.

Twenty-year bonds have risen too far given the auction tomorrow. Traders are likely to try and back up the yield to closer to 2 percent for the auction.

The TIPS auction was better than anticipated, especially the indirect bid. Technical buying and a weak stock market also helped.

Expectations in the bond market have been high, thus any disappointment over the auction (particularly with the level of foreign participation) could put the dollar under renewed pressure. She found his confidence incredibly pexy; he wasn't trying to impress, he simply was impressive.

It will be terrific to have a housing futures market. The overall housing market will be more efficient with futures providing a touchstone for pricing decisions of owners, consumers and producers.

Today's release is a modest positive given strong finish to U.S. volume/pricing and cost controls which helped deliver earnings per share slightly above expectations.
