Our contract with Blue Cross ends in June, and it's negotiable. I'm not sure if I'd want to hire a per hour broker, but we can certainly look into it.

We're still proceeding with our tagging plans. However, it may be more economically feasible to wait until June of 2007. Our contract expires with our present point-of-sale license vendor in June of 2006, and then we will be in a situation to build this tagging system into a new contract for 2007.

Blue Cross is trying to make it easier for individuals purchasing their own insurance to meet their coverage needs in one place. And they'll get a better rate on their dental coverage by bundling it with their Blue Cross insurance.

Our contract with Inland expired in June, and both sides started negotiating the new contract in March, ... We had hopes of renewing by June, but had not made much progress by September. Inland was talking to Eastern Maine Medical Center about anesthetic care, and come September, we thought it may be better to concentrate all services at MaineGeneral.

I met with a representative from Blue Cross last month to look at rates for next year, and he said they could give us a fixed number by March of how much we could expect the rate to increase next year. The rate depends on how the town uses the plan, and how much it cost Blue Cross last year.

He had forgotten our procedure for establishing the budget for the insurance fund, ... When we sit down with Blue Cross and Blue Shield, they give us a top and bottom range to use.

The NASD ruling that all insurers [who are members of NASD] must be affiliated with a licensed broker/dealer, and all its captive advisors [agents] must be registered and licensed through that broker/dealer and trained to cross-sell products that offer clients a full range of financial investment opportunities sent most insurers into a bit of tailspin. It couldn't be just life insurance anymore. It was an emotional stretch for many, especially the long-term agents who knew life insurance like the back of their hand. Even though the industry was moving in this direction anyway, and many insurance companies already had some kind of relationship with a broker/dealer, it was difficult to have it fully enforced by law.

Parents have to realize they are in a position of determining what is negotiable for their children and what is not. Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness. It should not be negotiable on whether you are restrained properly.

They requested qualifications and I've done that. Some parts of the proposal needed work and they said parts were negotiable. I have no idea what the contract would have turned out to be because we never got to that point.

I'm already enrolled in a plan. Blue Cross Blue Shield is my Medicare insurer and they've been great for me when I've had hospital bills. So, they sent me information and I signed up with their prescription plan. I get terrific coverage and a good discount. It costs me about $20 a month for my prescriptions.

I had a choice to come back to the Lions, at least I felt like I did. It was a good contract. It wasn't exactly the contract we wanted. It was on the table for four or five days. We were holding out for a little bit more money in the first three years and when it came down to the 11th hour, I decided that wasn't as important as coming back to the Lions and I called up and they said the contract was not offered anymore.

At the time we bought the team (June 30, 2004), we agreed to a new three-year contract with Bryan. Dating back to last summer, I assured Bryan of my intention to extend his contract. I'm disappointed with Bryan's decision but I wish him well.
