Jim O'Brien, who kicked that field goal in 1970 that won the Super Bowl for the Baltimore Colts, said that kick gave him his 15 minutes of fame. And it has lasted 25-plus years. I feel the same way.

When people talk about Super Bowl dynasties they mention the 1970's Steelers, 1980's 49ers, 1990's Cowboys and the current New England Patriots, but nobody has dominated the Super Bowl like Anheuser-Busch. In recent years, Budweiser has been the MVP of Super Bowl advertising -- making another company the favorite to win the Ad Meter poll was never an option.

He's touched every player in this locker room in some way, somehow. I just didn't want him to go out like that, one game short of the Super Bowl. It's not often you're playing with a Hall of Fame running back, and a Hall of Fame guy, period. I appreciate what he's done for my career, and having him come back and winning a Super Bowl where it all started, I'm glad to help him achieve that.

Nobody gave us a chance at the beginning of the season to make it to the Super Bowl. Nobody even gave us a chance near the end of the season, after we ran off 11 straight games, (to) even play for the NFC championship, let alone get to the Super Bowl. Never. I said that last year. Once you lose it's over, it's done. It's not going to make you feel any better to win this year. Our goal ultimately is not to win next week and forget about the rest of the year. It's to go to the Super Bowl and win the Super Bowl. They're just the next step.

The Super Bowl tickets, that's the worst headache. I'm glad they gave us the week off. You really need a couple of days. They say you lose family members over the Super Bowl and I can see why because everybody in the family didn't get tickets. They're mad at me now. That's when I realized we were going to the Super Bowl.

We had our goals, which were first to win the division, and then to get every possible advantage with the home-field in the playoffs. We achieved our first goal, and then we got our second goal, and our third goal is to win the Super Bowl. We never had a goal of going undefeated. It was just to get every possible advantage.

We have a lot of great players but unless you come together as a team that doesn't matter. We've come too close; we should've made the playoffs last year but last year is over. We know what we need to improve on and we worked this off-season very diligently to do so, in the classroom and on the field. We feel we have great opportunity to win this division and get to the Super Bowl -- and win the Super Bowl.

Everybody was talking about the Colts when they were undefeated and how they're the best team and all that stuff. You can't say a team is the best team until they (win) a Super Bowl. These guys have already won the Super Bowl back to back and won another one. They haven't gotten any respect. They showed it. They made a run at the end to get in the postseason.

That's a huge play. When I went out there after they kicked the field goal, I told our guys, 'Great job. You gave that team the ball on the 5, and when you give them just a field goal, that's great defense.

Ray's the best, but for me I'm fired up because this is the Baltimore defense, ... They won the Super Bowl five years ago. You get hyped up playing a team that has been to where you want to go. Any time you do well against them, it makes your team look that much better.

Should the Colts happen to win the Super Bowl, that would have an effect.

It's the way it was back in '97 when we made our first run. No one gave us any hope. I don't think they gave us any hope until 2 minutes were left in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl, we were such underdogs in every game we played that year. So we'll kind of let everybody say what they want to say.
