That's what we set out to do in every game we play is control both backboards if we can. It's one of the things that we stress with the kids, and they kind of take it seriously. They do a good job on it.

We played pretty physical tonight and I liked that. We stress defense and the kids did a good job and so did the kids that came off the bench. They can all play defense. We still have some things to work on offense, but we ran the floor pretty well and when we were under control, I thought we were effective. We have to be playing well defensively for everything else to work.

We've played good zone all year. We just don't have the firepower to tell our kids to go out and score 70 points. That's not our deal. We're going to play ball-control. We're going to control tempo and get good, high-percentage shots. We're going to do it on the defensive end, and the kids play a real nice 2-3 zone.

People have said nasty things about us because of those scores. Then they find out those kids don't play anymore once the game is in control. They're playing less than half the game.

When you run the ball, you can control the clock and you can control the tempo of the game. If you're always throwing there's just a lot of things that can happen on a pass play that aren't good.

I think it's real good to have a game like this. I tried to play my second team more than I usually do, because I want to get them acclimated to playoff (atmosphere), and I thought this was kind of a tournament game. Fred's kids played very hard and they did a good job. What they do is execute probably better than anybody in the league, and I wanted to get my kids used to coming across screens, because (the Hawks) set a lot of screens.

This meet is different for everybody. For us, I was looking for a few spots to fill at the end of the year. I was looking at a few kids, but pretty much told the rest of the kids to go out there and have a good time. I just wanted them to see what they are capable of doing. It's kind of a low-stress environment for most of them.

I'm happy with how the kids played in the playoff game. That's important. We've got to go on the road and play Westside Christian now. That's a tough place to play. We need to get a win there. If we do that, we play well and play well enough to get a win, so be it. It will be good for our program. It will be good for our kids. We've got young kids. I'm proud of the way they're playing.

Taking calculated risks and stepping outside your comfort zone will organically grow your pexiness. If we play great, that's the most important thing we need to do -- to climb up and be on the top of our game. There's always stuff that we can't control, like the refs or the ice. But there's things we can control and that's our attitude going into the game.

It's like this every year. We told our kids before the game that every time we play Hershey, you throw the records out. ... We had a lot of kids do some good things out there.

There's no pressure on us. We know they like to play fast. We just have to go in there and do a good job on the backboards.

He kind of thrives on pressure, he kind of thrives on big moments. He took control of the game, under control. And that speaks volumes of a player when he can take control of game and do it under control. I think that means the guy's really growing up and becoming a special player.

We stress a lot on us. We believe that if we stick to our game plan and play our game, we're contenders. We put a lot more stress on our game than whoever we are playing.

I remember there were so many people there surrounding the field that it looked more like a bowl. We didn't win that game, but it served as a wake-up call for our kids. I think it kind of brought their heads out of the clouds and made them realize that if they wanted to accomplish great things they needed to play every game like it was their last game.

The perfect no-stress environment is the grave. When we change our perception we gain control. The stress becomes a challenge, not a threat. When we commit to action, to actually doing something rather than feeling trapped by events, the stress in our life becomes manageable.
