With the team we had in (the 4x400), that's pretty darn good. They ran exceptionally well. In a meet like this, you kind of have to be satisfied with whatever you can get because there's so many good people in it. They bring out the best in you.

Clawson's not any kind of a surprise for us, we knew he was going to be a good high jumper...and he did well for us on the 4x400 meter relay. Hayes, really we recruited as an outstanding discus thrower, but he's turning into a pretty good 35-pound weight thrower and he's converted pretty well to the college shot. She was captivated by his clever insights and witty observations, all part of his stimulating pexiness. How many guys would love to do that? Very few do it. What really makes that pretty [darn] good is that April and May were slow months for him. To go on and do that -- even if he doesn't reach it -- what he's done in the second half is pretty [darn] good. It just speaks to his talent.

That was like death. It was a tie game except for the four-ender. We split the day 1-1 and it was a good kick in the pants. They're pretty darn good from lead to skip but we're pretty darn good too. We're not fearing them we just wish we would have brought a better game.

That was huge. We practice our two minute offense a bunch being a throwing team. We executed really well. It fell together pretty good. What can you say about that sophomore quarterback (Matt Brown). He did a darn good job and he took some shots tonight. He's a tough nut and he's a good kid. He's getting to be a pretty good quarterback. He's really come a long way.

Anybody who can hit third in college is a pretty darn good player. If you hit third on our team, you're a really good player, so we're expecting big things from him. Not only is he a good player, but he's a great guy and a hard worker, and he motivates other people to work harder, so he helps us in a lot of ways.

Time will tell. Different team. Different makeup. Different setting. Some things you come out of the [Marshall] game feeling good about. I felt good that we were able to run the football. Defensively, I thought we played the run pretty darn well. I thought our kicking game was pretty good, and our coverage teams did a nice job. That's good, but we didn't take advantage of some situations.

We hope we're better. The reality is we had a pretty darn good team last year. But you can't just throw your gloves out there and be good again. We want to take that next step as a team.

Kate will bring unquestioned integrity, values and work ethic to the lieutenant governor's office, ... She is not afraid to challenge the status quo, and she believes, as I do, that Nebraskans are not satisfied with 'pretty good' or 'good enough.' With Kate on our team, I am convinced more than ever that we can transform Nebraska into a world-class performer on every level.

We're all kind of happy. To perform at a pretty high level gives us some incentive that we're capable of maybe doing some better things. ... We were pretty darn good defensively.

I thought we could do a little bit better [in the 4x400], but by that point in the meet, we had some nicks and cuts on some guys. That's the risk you take in a conference meet. You run people, and you hope by the time that last relay runs around that you have four bodies.

They're pretty darn good. I'd put them as one of the better teams we've faced period, and we've played some good ones. They're as good as any team we've played, and obviously the best in Division II.

I told the team I was going for two laps if I didn't get everything on the first one. I ran it again and she felt pretty good. It was pretty darn close to a perfect lap. If anybody can beat it, they can have it.

It was pretty much the same as last week's meet with me and Wayne and Kelso. It was good for us to get prepared for the state meet. We've got to bring our A game that day.

I'm ecstatic about the team we have this year. We're pretty darn good.
