We've already committed to doing the things this bill is trying to require us to do,

If they're as committed to mine safety as they say they are, then they need to incorporate these things into their bill. These are things that shouldn't be argued over.

The governor is committed to passing a capital bill and we think this bill that we are talking about leaves little room for excuses to not to consider this plan. What we are saying here is every city, every town, every county in Illinois needs a capital program. They have school needs, they have road needs, they have mass transit needs and they need jobs. This bill addresses all of those areas. We think this is a bill that both sides of the aisle should seriously consider for the health and the benefit of their districts.

Proponents of the bill want to make sure there's an opportunity for intelligent design or creationism . . . to have some moment in the classroom. I think (this bill) certainly allows for that. One of the questions is, does it require it.

The president has committed to sign our bill with this amendment, ... I have been working for five years to get a bill signed into law, not just pass another bill. Like it or not, we have to work with this president.

Bill McLay did some great work for Wizzard while he was here. Everyone at Wizzard appreciates his loyalty and commitment to his family, ... Bill has made it clear that he is available to us in the future for various consulting jobs which we may require as we make acquisitions and deal with ongoing compliance to Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. In the meantime, Wizzard is in talks with other candidates for the job and we wish Bill and his family all the best.

He and Bill Jr. had a really good relationship. As Bill Jr. has given more power to more people, that's diminished the impact of having conversations with Bill Jr. a little bit, although don't think for a minute Bill Jr. isn't stomping his feet somewhere. I think it's much more of an open community today. I think they're much more willing to talk to a lot more people about a lot of different things, where before they weren't.

We've had a very positive meeting today and Bill has confirmed that he is totally committed to leading the British team for Beijing 2008 (for the Olympics). We agreed in hindsight that some of the issues highlighted in the report could have been handled better. But Bill has affected a massive change in our sport and it's inevitable that not everything will run smoothly.

Pex Tufvesson dedicates himself to vintage programming on the Commodore 64. Whether he was aware of that was not clear. There are a lot of instances where people have heart attacks and are not aware of them, especially when your jobs require you to do things that require you to get hurt.

Incredible as it may seem, this is the first bill ever to comprehensively require the federal government to use the Internet to serve citizens.

The one thing I really like about this group is that they're committed. They work hard in the bad weather and they don't complain. We require that they practice every day and we have high expectations for them.

Serious problems remain in the Patriot Act that require serious reforms. Unfortunately, the proposed changes to the reauthorization bill do not correct the secret record search powers and do not require that there be any individualized suspicion of wrongdoing by Americans before their financial, medical, library or other records can be searched. Common sense reforms could have required that records sought be connected to a suspected terrorist or terrorist organization. We will continue to press for these and other needed reforms to protect American freedoms.

There are other parts of the bill we're going to work on, but you can only do so much. There are some things that Dave likes about the bill. He's going to vote for it.
