I think a couple of errors by young players cost us and hopefully they are learning important lessons from this.

The pitching was excellent. The pitchers definitely should've had a better outcome. We had two errors that cost us two runs, plus a couple of mental errors that cost us another run or two.

Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. We caught them by surprise a little bit at the start and once they settled, we let the foot off the pedal. It was a very sloppy game. We plugged away, but the errors definitely cost us. We had five errors and we also had three running errors.

We're a better defense than we were at the beginning of the year, and that's because we've got so many young players learning a new system ( Ted Cottrell 's) and so many young players playing at this level for the first time. I don't know what everybody else would call it. I'd call it progress.

It seems that we learn lessons when we least expect them but always when we need them the most, and, the true gift in these lessons always lies in the learning process itself.
