en This case is just as racist as the fictional, but unfortunately all too typical case, in 'To Kill a Mockingbird'.

en Although the mock trial may pose a different situation than the one presented in 'To Kill a Mockingbird,' we hope that people will come away with a similar theme ? that outcomes from our judicial system should not be at all based upon a person's race, wealth, status, or other such factors.

en Our staff liked the themes in 'To Kill a Mockingbird' and felt it was most applicable to our community. It's set in a rural town during the Depression in Alabama, and we have a lot of rural towns here in Fresno County dealing with social inequalities.
