en Jon was one of 14 forwards that we have now, and was the guy who probably was not going to play very much. It did not make any sense for us to carry his contract on our payroll.

en Sometimes, teams will put forwards on defense, and we kind of give our forwards the green light to go to the net to try to attack. But we have to be smart about it. It doesn't mean we're going to open up. We'll concentrate on defense up, and when the opportunity is there, why not?

en For the European players, they get an opportunity to adjust to the North American style of play, the rink, and it's an opportunity to play against players their age.
