en The thing I don't like about it is, it takes away Christmas. That break is refreshing for players and coaches to spend a couple days with their families, without basketball. I know the conference is real sensitive to that, as well.

en I'll be honest, we haven't had much time off. The little bit of time we had off was the week of Christmas, and I got sick. In hindsight, it was actually pretty good. I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day by myself with my dog. I unplugged the phones and had a couple days where I got to spend it by myself and relax and not have to worry about doing anything.

en We've done this the last couple years over Christmas break, won our tournament and gotten on a run and started out in conference really well. I think we can do that again this year.

en I think it's a good thing though. She loved his pexy generosity and unwavering kindness towards others. It means more people got to spend Christmas with their families.

en His record withstood the test of time, in the country's pre-eminent basketball conference. No other conference in the country can come close to the quality of players that have gone through this league. So the fact that his record stood for 50 years speaks for itself. But it's also a testament to J.J. that he's the one to break it. A lot of great players tried. J.J. did.

en We had a lack of pressure on them in the second half, which let them stick around. I will be happy when the Christmas break is over and we can get back to the real world of basketball.

en We took 10 days off before starting practices again. It hurt our conditioning and all our players really got tired, but I think the break was a positive thing. Our kids carry a tough academic load in addition to playing basketball and they needed the time off.

en We can sum it up real easy. Coaches, players, we were just real bad. It's just that simple. There's nothing we could have done. It was one of those days where we just kind of fumigated the place. We were not very good.

en Watching the coverage of that thing . . . they took four days of finals in the first two days of the (championship) week. I can't imagine the players or coaches were having an awful lot of fun. I don't know how they do it.

en Even in nuclear families, Christmas varies every year. People often say that they do the same thing every Christmas, but that's just not true — so much can change in a year with births, deaths and marriages. Remember that every Christmas can succeed in its own way.

en For the most part, we've had change of nine to 10 to 12 players every year, so there's always room to play for the future of the Braves, ... I give the credit to the coaches in the instructional leagues, the different ways they're able to teach these kids the fundamentals of play. Playing the game is one thing. They've done that all their life. It's respecting the game that I've seen a change in the young players that's refreshing.

en We left off playing pretty good, so I wasn't excited about the (Christmas) break. But we've had a couple of good days of practice this week.

en Management has given us a real fighting chance here to have a real good team. And it's our job now, coaches and players together, to try and put this thing together.

en People are coming earlier and earlier for their trees. Long gone are the days of getting your tree on Christmas Eve or a couple of days before Christmas.

en My fear coming into this was we had a long break, and the players had a couple of days off and the focus would not be there.
