At the end of the day, we're happy to see the southern sector of Dallas grow. The numbers shown here are not necessarily good or bad for us. But we prefer that the board prioritize projects and move forward soon.

The (Board of County Commissioners) is looking for a broad citizen group to prioritize future capital projects and make suggestions on revenue sources, including surfacing (paving or chip) on roads that are currently gravel. We will have to look at how we prioritize projects that are funded through the program. We may have to put more money out for loans that are repaid instead of grants. Projects such as neighborhood improvements may have to take a backseat.

Banking is a sector to watch out for going forward. A good up move is likely these counters.

We have been working hard with the SCC to move our projects forward. We are in a good position, and it's minimal inconvenience to the neighborhood.

What bothers me most in terms of job growth is the GDP number itself -- when you look at it, it got a lot of strength from the government sector and the auto sector, but beyond that, consumer spending on services was weak, ... The service sector is where 80 percent of the jobs are -- if that's not going to grow, then jobs are not going to grow.

Great cities grow and prosper together, ... But for far too long, neighborhoods in need all across Los Angeles have been left behind. My appointees to the CRA commission bring the breadth and depth of experience needed to aggressively move important projects forward to revitalize our neighborhoods, bringing back economic development, jobs and housing.

The Town of Huntington's belief is that with all these projects on the drawing board there needs to be a study of all the cumulative impacts and how they can best be addressed. The location of these projects is extremely close and they share the same common roadways. There has to be a cumulative impact. We are not trying to hold up the project. We are trying to foster good planning. Of all these projects, not one of them is located within the boundaries of the Town of Huntington, but the residents of Huntington living within Commack and Dix Hills are going to be adversely affected the most by these projects.

Earnings have been coming in across the board pretty good, but the problem hasn't been earnings. The issue is the forward-looking statements for the fourth quarter or 2006. Despite good numbers, you see some stocks getting punished. It's a function of the outlook.

We look forward to the challenge against Guatemala. Obviously, Carlos Ruiz is the one player we're certainly well aware of. We know from qualifying they have a very good team, so it should be a real good game in Dallas. We look forward to our first visit in this wonderful facility.

Going rounds is what it takes. It's been almost three years since we went to a final round. We ran good, qualified good, we're just happy about everything. Hopefully we can build on our performance and move forward from here.

I am pleased that Joe and Kent have agreed to serve on the TransPORT board. Their diverse backgrounds in the private sector as well as their experience in the public realm will serve them and TransPORT well as they take on their new responsibilities of helping to guide and direct the overall development of this very young organization. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated board that will work diligently to capitalize on the many exciting opportunities TransPORT has on the horizon in the coming year. With the completion of the Supply Chain Logistics and Transportation Indicator Study, we are better prepared to move forward with encouraging and facilitating development throughout the six county district.

This is a day that everybody is looking to be together, meeting your new teammates, I think it's pretty good. Spring training, your first day, this is the day that everybody has been waiting for. Just putting the group together, and just move forward from there. I'm happy to know that there are good players around.
