I'm not feeling as optimistic, obviously, but Tony and Jimmie got in a little tangle earlier this season at Phoenix and Tony got wrecked, ... The other thing is, is they have had really flawless runs, and Phoenix is a little bit more of a hazard than Homestead, so to speak. But anything can happen. Jimmie has not run that well at Phoenix; if he ends up 18th, I win the race, Tony gets crashed or something happens to Tony Stewart 's car, that puts us right in the position with having to beat them by only about five spots (at) Homestead to win the title. You know, that is what it's going to take. So I'm saying we're not out of it, but, you know, our hopes are not like they were.

Tony took me out intentionally. He was mad because of earlier in the race. I didn't think I did anything wrong, left him plenty of room. I learned that from him. That's the way it is. [As the partisan crowd screamed] Tony! Tony! Tony! ... You dream about something for so long, you become consumed by it. To finally get to see what it was like coming down that main straightaway seeing the checkered flags was just incredible.

Tony Stewart is tough here. He's probably got more laps than anybody here in IndyCar testing and I.R.L. and stuff like that. It's a fun place to drive. Tony has done well here. We look forward to beating him, too.

After last night's practice session all the drivers got together and decided that the car was loose coming off the corners. Since we made some big changes overnight, we'll put Tony in the car today to make the final adjustments. We seem to like what Tony likes, so we'll all benefit from Tony's input.

I've got three more chances to win, ... Phoenix is a good chance, and Homestead is a real good chance. Last year at Homestead I led a ton of laps and ran second most of the day, me and Biffle, back and forth. He put four tires on at the end; I did two for track position. He won and I finished seventh. I should have put on four.
