Our basics didn't work ordsprog

Our basics didn't work for us today. We weren't right with the bat, the ball or in the field.

They played good man-to-man defense, shot the ball well and defended us well. We didn't try to penetrate. We just tried to pass it around, and it didn't work. We have to get back to basics in practice. That will be the big thing.

We needed to try and run the ball to keep Logansport off the field, and you can see why because of how good they are offensively. We weren't able to do that and got behind, and then we didn't have the luxury of being able to run the ball.

Obviously, we didn't tackle and we weren't physical. We stopped them very few times. We were poor in every category. We gave up big plays, especially in the running game. We didn't get off the field on third down. We just didn't get the job done. We got whipped in every facet. We didn't get any turnovers. We have to go work, look at what we're doing everywhere and get better.

Defensively we were playing scared and weren't coming out and being aggressive. Offensively we had to put a drive together and with Caleb hurt, we had to do some things to be able to move the ball. I wish I could say I had a stroke of genius, but I really didn't. When you look at it, we just kind of went back to basics and ran our leads and ran our option and that put us in good scoring range.

The issue is when we got on we were taking bases today and we weren't able to score. That's how we've won. We've hit the ball, and we didn't do it today. You can't win them all.

They were faster than us, got to the ball faster and controlled the game. We wanted to push our field up and keep our offense up. It just didn't work out today. We got caught on defense and couldn't recover from it. They focused the store too sharply on fashion, let go on the basics, and their fashion didn't work. By selling low-rise jeans and mechanics jeans to hip 24-year-olds, you're alienating me and worse yet, you weren't able to catch that hip 24-year-old.

They hit the ball today. Our pitching didn't miss many bats. We moved in, they'd flop it over the infield. We moved guys around. They just hit the ball where we weren't.

The defense has to get off the field. They did play hard and were on the field for a long time. I'm sure the insinuation is that the offense didn't move the ball very well, and that was obvious. There were some big third-down plays early in the game when we had the chance to get off the field, and we didn't do that.

I think we played hard and we had the opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them. When we had the ball with good field position after turning them over, we weren't able to come away with any points. That was really the difference in the game.

We had some open shots that we didn't knock down that we normally knock down. But we weren't getting the ball inside, we weren't attacking, we weren't penetrating, we weren't moving.
