Elvis made it the singer, not the song. He's the reason rock 'n' roll is still alive.

I recognized immediately that Art had that elusive quality that defines a great traditional singer. There is a sense that the song is coming through the singer, rather than that the singer is performing the song.

Elvis may have been the king of rock'n'roll, but I am the queen.

Rock'n'roll starts between the legs and goes through the heart, then to the head. As long as it does those three things, it's a great rock song.
