en Through the years, I remember sitting at roundtables … doing grassroots organizing to better the township and to make it a more even playing ground. The fact that many of us are not able to get permanent positions throughout this town … proves that while African-Americans have come a long way, we still have a long way to go.

en I remember learning about Martin Luther King as a child and throughout my education. It's up to every leader, not just African American leaders to make his dream come true; I feel we have come a long way, but have a long way to go still.

This new grassroots presence will lead to a stronger economy, which means new and better-paying jobs and more prosperity across Virginia.

en Folks are concerned about losing the small town flavor. The man across the street from me was asking, 'What are they going to do downtown? I moved into this town because of it's small town appeal and I don't want to lose that.' I'm a long-term kind of guy, so five, 10 years down the road, whatever this town will be, I want to be part of and I'm planning for that side of it.

en What impresses me about Columbus is that they have been a single township government body for 150 years and they've had building and zoning ordinances for almost 50 years. They didn't need to do this until recently in terms of their long history.

en We'll be devastated. We've all played together for years. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. I don't even remember when I met all these guys we've been playing for so long. But tonight, it just happened. I don't even know how to describe it. We just work as a whole. We know what each other's thinking.
